06 TSX Shifting Problem

I have a 2006 TSX 5AT and i have just about 6k miles on it. In the morning when I drive to work, there is a huge hesitation when shifting from first to second. The car shifts out of first and then there's a delay for a full second, then it shifts into 1st gear but it really slams into 2nd and the car jerks.

It only does it on the first shift of the morning....after that it's fine for the rest of the day and if i step on the gas harder than usual it doesn't hesitate. Only if i'm going a bit slow coming out of my driveway.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks,
Chris

It's Honda's worst technology "Drive-By-Wire"..... DBW on AT is ok...but it does not work on MT.....
one of main reason we drive MT is.....Mt gives morfe precise control, better response, and etc......
anyway don't concern it.....u will get use to drive without jerking.....but not precise like cable.....

What does a grounding kit have to do with my transmission not shifting smoothly the first shift of the morning?

The transmission fluid is till cold and circulating. Does this happen during hot summer days too?

I haven't owned it during the summer. I just got it in October. That sounds like a very likely explanation though the car is garaged and it's not really that cold out when it happens....maybe 30-40. There's far worse climates than New England. Just wondering why not everyone has the problem if that's the case.

Nothing's wrong with you car...it's perfectly fine. The fluid is a bit cold so that's why the car behaves that way. After it warms up a bit and is circulating more it should be fine. If it was shifting that way all the time, then you'll have a problem.
