'06: Squeaking when rolling down windows

Title says most of it.

I get a pretty awful squeaking/squealing sound when rolling down my windows (particularly the front windows). I just started noticing it a couple weeks ago, I just go the car 4-5 months ago.

I've tried searching but came up empty. Is this a common problem?

Gonna see if I can get htis fixed @ the dealer, and maybe get them to throw some felt on the inside while they're at it!

hmm that sucks, cuz they're probably going to try + blame it on your tint.

try cleaning in between the cracks. i had the same problem, so i rolled the windows down and cleaned the the strip and it really made a difference. its been awhile now and the squeak has come back. so i checked the window again, and there is more dirt/dust in there. goodluck. (i think cleaning the contact points will also reduce the scratches that our tsx are prone to)

I have this problem also. When in the neighborhood, I took the car to the dealer. The service fellow sprayed the window guides with silicone. That quieted the windows for a couple of hours, but they're back to their squeaking ways. If anyone finds a permanent solution, I'm interested!

Anyone find a solution yet? This one started on my driver's side window this weekend. Only happens when the window goes down...no problem when putting the window up.

I carefully cleaned all four windows from inside the car with Windex and the noise is gone. I used to hear it, like everyone else, while the windows were lowering. What this means to me is that the dealer was wrong, and that my problem, at least, has nothing to do with the lubrication of the guides on the sides of the window. I think it was dirt on the inside of the window going past the seal between the window and the door. We'll see how long the quiet lasts.

Anyone else have any success fixing this issue? My windows have started to get really noisy in the past week. I think I need to give the glass and seals a good cleaning and hopefully the noise will stay away for a while.

i had an 06 and had the same problem after 3 months of ownership. the way i found easy to clean them is to spray water in between the window and the rubber pieces (the water stream gotta be somehow fast so that it will clean it...........), try doing that when you wash your car! for me it works

Went over all the windows with glass cleaner today. I also cleaned the seals and weatherstripping, no luck. Both front windows are still very noisy when going down.

Both also sporadically make a loud squeak noise when sealing at the top (letting the window up) or when breaking from that seal (letting the window down). I'm calling my dealer to schedule an appointment tomorow. Fingers crossed.

I had the same problem and it went away when I used a Rainx cloth on all the windows. Helps keep the window clean also!

Rainx cloth eh? Did you use it inside and out or just outside? I might have to look into that.

I made an appointment with my dealer to have them look at the windows on the 26th. I'll report back with results.

I used the Rainx on the outside only. I cleaned the inside with Windex. I had cleaned in and out with Windex before though, so I'm pretty sure it's the Rainx that worked.

That's how mine started but now the driver's side does it too.

I haven't had a chance to try the rain-x yet but I'm hoping it does the trick.

That was exactly what mine (all four) were doing. It's been three weeks or so since the thorough cleaning and the windows are still quiet. If the problem does return, I'll prolly try the rain-x cloths, since the windex was pretty messy.

My 06 makes the same exact noise. It's awful -- like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I believe the problem is with the horizontal rubber seal at the bottom of the window.

Makes my Acura sound like a POS Yugo.

The streaks I'm getting are on the inside of the window. My driver side started squeaking this weekend after a 1000km trip. It was horrible cuz I wasn't expecting it. Thought I was back in elementary and teacher was trying to calm us down.

I washed the car and the squeak didn't go away, even a day later. Now a fewhours in the sun and it doesn't squeak. WTF?! I smell another TSB

All my dealer did was clean the windows and the tracks inside the door. It seems to have solved the problem for the most part....but who knows for how long?

Mine does the same thing on all four windows, intermittently. I keep the glass clean and I even used some dry lube in the glass channels, to no avail. I'll have the dealer check it out next time it's there.

My '04 does the same thing, but for me it seems to be temperature dependant. The only other thing I have is that the auto up does not always work as it should.

My tsx is 6 month old and I have yet to have this problem. I have not used my windows that much nor do I drive it much. Maybe that it why Idon't have the problem? Are there any other 06 TSX owners without the problem?

Hiya, I have this sound too on my '06 after about 2 months. This is too common to be a fluke. The Rainx wipe on the outside or cleaning the ribber seems to be the temporary solution, right?

^ That seems like the only temporary solution. I bought some stoners invisible glass to try to get rid of the squeeking, but i haven't had time to use it.. :/ Hopefully it'll remove the squeeking..

Been lurking for awhile but I'd also like to add that I have the same problem. Mostly on the driver side door, the other windows are intermittent. '06, 2 months old. 6k miles and haven't changed the oil yet... pretty scary when it says:
"-300 miles, service overdue"

I have an 06 and it has the same exact problem, the two from windows make a very loud squeaking noise when rolled down. I am going to take it in to the dealer when I need the next oil change.

Lads, I vacuumed the felt at the bottom of the window. No worries since, but then again the problem was intermittant so I can't say for sure if this fixed/helped. I don't have squeaking now anyway. My analytical mind says this is a DIRT issue. The window seals so nice on the highway, that I'd say the fit is quite tight and prone to any debris logding between horizontal felt and window.

I get the same thing on my 05. The noise it makes rivals some of the most annoying sounds I have ever heard. It mostly does it on the driver side window when using the auto down feature. Sometime the passenger window does it too but not as often. I am going to try giving the rubber trim a good cleaning and see what happens.
