So today I saw that my VSC, ABS and the Hazard/Traction-control check lights all came on. I had just driven my car this morning and the lights weren't on. The lights are constant and have stayed on the last couple of times I've used the car. I have had a pulsing in my brakes for a couple of months now. I took the car to the mechanic down at school and they said that my brakes were all fine.

I did a quick google search for this issue and saw some thread on a Toyota website that dealt with the same issues and they said it was the ABS actuator and it was $2000+ repair. Has anybody ever had this happen to their car and if so what was the issue? I have an 04 TSX 5AT with 116,600 miles. I just want to prepare myself for when I take it to the mechanic. The ABS system has built-in diagnostics. You need to access the stored codes. It may require a Honda Diagnostic System to access the codes. It could be something simple; dirty wheel sensor or failed sensor, etc. There are many possibilities.

If modulator were indeed bad, you can find used units for reasonable prices using car-part.com and ebay as sources. I checked car-part.com and TSX are available for <$100. It's easier to find a local part near your zip code and go by to inspect before purchase.
