a\c not blowing cold any more

My 04 has 85k and the ac blows cold until you stop the car and the engine stays at an idle. .. I thought it was low on freon so I tried to add some and it started coming out of the bottom of the car After About 3\4 Of The Can so I shut the valve and disconnected it. After I disconnected the hose from the low side it shot out another cloud of freeon from under the car for about 3 seconds... have no idea what I messed up! Does any one else know what I might have broke? Now it won't blow cold at all. ...

I suspect you overcharged, causing extreme high side pressures (> 400psi!), which resulted in emergency pressure relief valve opening to vent excess pressure. This may happen again if you turn AC on.

This can happen when you attempt to charge an AC system w/ no knowledge of whether system is low on refrigerant. In your case, no cooling was result of another fault; possibly excess clutch gap which disaabled compressor.

You need professional help to fix. The relief valve is unlikely to re-seal. Compressor may need to be removed to access relief valve. Get ready for some major bucks for repair.

good luck
