I just bought a 2004 tsx with navi yesterday and it is having the same problem. I have searched most of the corners of this forum and havent found any fixes. I ran a navi diagnostic and foud that the FI ECU and Meter buttons remained red.

Additionally, my talk and back buttons make the system freeze up when i press them.

In your case, does the navi work fine after you enter the navi code and radio code?

In mine, the speakers crackle and all I can hear is static noise. It's a little depressing. If anyone out there can help us, that would be awesome!

There is a note in one of the service bulletins explaining that this could be a result of a faulty negative battery cable. Take it into the service department and explain this to them.

NAV UPDATE

I sent my nav system (trunk unit) to Alpine (1888 NAV HELP) with little hope that it could all be fixed.

Not only did they fix the system to work perfectly, they did it in record time (11 days including shipping from MD to CA and back).

They only charged me $155 and i had to pay shipping one way ($40).

Additionally, I got a 90 day refurb warranty. The $155 is a set cost, the guy on the phone told me that they are seeing a lot of these and that they are able to refurbish nearly 100% of the units to factory condition. hope that helps. PM me if you want any more details.

Wow, it's nice to hear Alpine helped you out and at a reasonable cost to the consumer. Makes me think how much Acura would of charge for such a repair.

$4300 was the quote the dealership gave me!

thats a difference of $4145 and the only thing i had to do was deal with my car without a nav unit for 11 days.
