Maybe it's the top photo playing a trick, but it appears there are numerous runs in the red paint? Any chance that you can sand and buff them out or is it just an illusion and the valve cover is in fact smooth?

No, u r right. When I was painting the cover, it was very windy. I did wash off all the paint and re-paint it already. But still, I was hurry picking up the cover and spray too much paint on it. I never though any one would notice it, but u did. :p
