Pics of my system

the amp is mounted right behind the sub on the sub box. the amp is a jl audio 250/1 that takes line level in, so no line level to rca converter is required. i used the lines from the 6x9s in the rear deck. i bought the speaker harness from circuit city, so no wire cutting/tapping was required. i also removed the 6x9s so the sound will come into the cabin. it pounds nicely and i hear no rattles inside the car. its a nice clean sound coming in the cabin. there is some rattle, but not much (i put some weatherstripping foam behind the license plate) coming from the outside by the trunk.

So every TSX equipped with Nav has that in the trunk? I presume to update the system.

We don't get Nav in Canada so I'm clueless on this.

damn I'm stupid... I had a 10" JL subwoofer box just like that set up in my old 99 Accord with a 5 way Sony Amp powering all the speakers (polk dbs inside), and I didn't think of just keeping the subwoofer! Oh well, just have to buy something else...:P

thinking of putting in 6.5" Kenwood Excelons in place of all the stockers in the doors and then adding a subwoofer, that way all the deep bass will be coming from the trunk and not shaking all the damn doors like it is now!

Good job on yours!

Not just for updates, but all the map data and business listings are stored on that disc. It gets your current location from GPS (right?) but all the roads and everything are stored right there on a DVD in the trunk.

Is the DVD readable on computer DVD ROM? It would be interesting to know if it is. Does it contains maps in Canada?

That's correct.

Yes, its readable on your PC DVDrom and some have hacked out a few pics and such, but it didn't sound like much more. There is a pretty large post in it at the club. (no mention of CDN maps)

Yes, It has full maps from
Alberta, Greater Vancouver, Whatcom WA, Fraser Valley, Victoria, Ontario, dufferin, durham, halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Peel, Simcoe, Toronto, Waterloo, Wellington, York, and Widsor.

And partial maps from a lot of other areas. plus it will always list all major roads and highways for the lower half of Canada.

Then why the hack Navi is not available?

The only map I need is the Greater Vancouver, Alberta, Victory that's all. Any way I can order the Navi seperately from US dealer?
