Pics of M3 spoiler from Xenonspecialists

I just received my m3 spoiler from Xenonspecialists and installed it today. I think I might have put it a little too far forward but overall I'm happy with the results.

I know the pictures kind of suck but I thought I'd share them anyways.

i ordered mine last night from xenonspecialist (yes, they are on ebay). i just need to get a dang dent out of my trunk before i put it on there.

how far to the back of the trunk *should* the lip spoiler go? i think your placement looks pretty good, gecko

Does your trunk lid pop up anymore after you've installed this?

Looks sharp. The lip spoiler is the one backside accoutrement I can tolerate on the TSX.

Understated is always better on sedans, IMO.

i have one too, i love it, color matches perfectly for my nighthawk black (even has blue sparkles in it!!).
anyways, the trunk does pop a little less when i use the remote, but it still pops up.
i've heard people say with the other lip spoilers (usually bigger ones), that it doesn't pop up anymore.

I've had mine for approximatley a year now, and still get compliments from fellow TSX owners asking me, "is that a dealer option spoiler?"

yea, i think with the OEM spoiler (the big one, not the lip one), it will come with upgraded hardware for your trunk popping setup. This way your trunk will end up popping up at the same rate. I'm pretty sure... someone correct me if i'm wrong. I recall reading this somewhere on here and someone was asking wether or not to install the new hardware.

It pops but just barely. It's nice tho in case you accidentally hit the trunk button while keys are on your pocket or wherever. This way can't tell if youre trunk's open or not unless you walk up beside it.

I never thought about doing this...until I saw the pics. It looks pretty damn sweet!! And you can't beat $70 (just saw it on Ebay)
I see that you have CGP, does it match color very well?
Does it install pretty easy? Anyone have any problems with the adhesive not working very well?

Just a few questions to reduce anxiety of it not working out well, then screwing up my paint with the adhesive.

Thanks

nice shots of the lip. how much further back do you think it should go? you mentioned in your first post that you thought you put it a little too far forward. how far back did the rest of you that have the m3 lip from xenonspecialist put it? i should be getting mine this coming week.

Now that I think about it, I really like where it is now. At first from the looks of other peoples pictures, I thought I had it too far forward. But in order to make the space between the spoiler and the end of the trunk even, you have to bring it a little forward or you will have the middle of the spoiler with little gap at the end of the trunk and the ends of the spoiler with a bigger gap. It's to each it's own though, I think it looks great either way.

I've had my lip for almost two weeks but haven't installed it yet. I'm a bit intimidated about lining everything up, etc. Are there some install tips you all would like to share ??

Get some painters tape or any kind of tape that won't harm your paint. Lay the spoiler on the trunk lid and line it up as you want it. Then, place the tape at each end of the spoiler so you have guides of where it needs to be between when you go to attach it. You can also place a piece of tape in front of it and even behind it so you know how far forward or backward you want the spoiler to lie.

I pretty much did the same thing. A friend to help so that there's one person holding the wing, and one person lining it up and eyeballing it, definitely helps. My girlfriend helped me with mine. Pretty easy.

Also, I think mine is a little farther back then the pics I see above. I think that was the most difficult part since if you put it too far back, it kind of hangs over the curve of the trunk. Here's a pic

It's either this or a Spoon spoiler. If the Spoon was cheaper, there wouldn't be a decision.

Question Genuine Honda Ducktail Spoilers

Hey guys, i've been talking with Morris at Boomplustoys and he said he can get OEM (europe) colormatched "ducktail" spoilers for our TSX. the price he quoted was (gasp!) $449 + $25 ship. is anyone interested in a group buy?

The Spoon one is similar for about $100 cheaper. If you can get the ducktail one down lower than that, you could count me in.
