Yea, First I removed all the chrome stripping and emblem that are held on by tiny phillips screws. I sanded the surface I wanted painted with 320,400, and 800. Sprayed three LIGHT coats of gloss black and then finished it off with 2 coats of clear coat.

Looks good, did you have it professionally painted? If you don't mind how much did it cost?

I'm actually going the opposite route - my car's in the bodyshop right now and one of the things I'm having them do is paintmatch the top and bottom chrome pieces CGP, while leaving the A and the "wing" in the center chrome.

I saw one other member do this a while ago, and I think it looked hot. Can't wait to get my car back!

How much is that going to cost if you don't mind me asking?
I've thought about doing this too, just hoping that the paint will hold since I'm mostly a freeway driver.

I like the fact that it prevents bugs and crap from getting into that lower portion and makes the front end nice and clean

I haven't noticed increased temps because of that grill.

2006 Tsx

Just picked up a 2006 TSX this weekend. I hate the chrome on the front grill. Since the car is Nighthawk Black, I want to paint the front grill flat black with a red emblem.

Comments?

What's involved in pulling the grill to paint?

Piece by strip, all the faux-chrome will disappear!
