is the ballast still there , if so the headlights are only worth ~$75/each by themselves. It looks like it took some effort, they had to rip the bumper off and smash the fenders in.

All taken apart... in total $4500 worth in damage, yes parents are paying lol but it was the cops who noticed at 4 am in the morning they were on call because a porsche 911 just got its headlights stolen, i mean this is a gated highend community so of course this would be the best area to get those expensive parts. I am just glad insurance covered the theft of the lights because it is a ever growing case now with HID equipped autos.

Wait... you told your parents to look after the car while it was in the garage... how did the headlights get stolen while they were in the garage? DId they actually break into the garage?

Sorry to hear about this. Good thing insurance is paying. At least she'll be back to somewhat normal soon.

Sucks that it happened, but at least you don't have to pay out of pocket for it.

Well thats the thing i asked them if they could please put it in the garage if they weren't going to use it and they said they weren't going to cuz they know how i feel about other people driving my car. So thats what happend! Answering another question this took place in FL, south boward county almost hitting Miami.

The HIDs are much more expensive than $150. Try adding a 0 then multiply by 2. I forget, but I think they are about $1800 each with the ballast. I might be off by a couple hundred.

BTW, that sucks man. At least you can get them replaced through your insurance.

Was that really necessary? I mean come on, now that you guys are in second you're going to whine about it and insist that every bad thing that happens to you can be blamed on people being Sox fans? Man, we may hate you Yankee fans, but we don't blame you for all our problems.....

Anyhow, there was a news story about 2 months ago on the local Boston TV news about the new game of HID light-jacking... 20 seconds and a crowbar is all it takes... very very ghetto...

Sorry to hear this happened to you....

It was only a matter of time before they started taking our lights.....I called it a few months ago. I hated the first time I saw people with the TSX front on a civic......and knew it was over when i saw just the projectors from our cars being sold on eBay.

Hopefully nothing like that happens to my car.

Last night my mother saw strange towing truck roaming around our neighborhood block and they actually stopped in front of the house and gazed at my car with flashlights for a while. This was around 3am so they are really really suspicious.

If you are getting some real OEM parts that are not stolen they will cost you over $1200.00 ($1230.76 with no tax or shipping) the cheapest I saw. That is not even including labor to put them in. Those that you foud on ebay, are they sealed in the box or stolen? I ask because the HID bulb itself is almost $200 everywhere I looked. At the price listed on ebay they have to be hot or ripoffs.

Just because it's on ebay doesn't it's stolen. There was a train wreck full of TSXes awhile back resulting many TSX parts on ebay.

My only point was the price on ebay is not retail or constant. Any discounted prices due to an event like a train wreck is temporary. They might not be stolen, but given the anonymity of ebay it is possible that stolen goods are sold there all the time. Given the popularity of stolen HIDs the % of legit HIDs sold for 1/5 the price is suspicious.
