Interesting, wonder how it differs (other than the obvious body stuff).

How is this K24 tuned differently than past cars.

Amazing how, when I started watching the series, they were sporting integra Type Rs. This car is huge in comparison.

im not 100% sure, but im pretty sure its the same engine/mgmt as the G1 tsx, all they did was create a new body. prob similar susp/brake parts as well.
here are the specs from the G1:

RTR baffled oil pan
RTR cams
CP 12.5:1 compression pistons
Eibach valve springs
Carillo Rods
RTR spring retainers
RTR Engine Mounts
EFI engine management
RTR header and exhaust
C&R Racing radiator
RTR Carbon Radiator Shroud
RTR Airbox
RTR Spec ASU5 6 speed gearbox
Red Line Oil engine/trans lubricants
BOSCH spark plugs and fuel pumps
Goodridge hoses, lines and fittings
Tilton Flywheel and Clutch
Fuel Safe Fuel Cell

The engine is likely the same but the suspension is compromised not the cars fault. All new cars must conform to a new more strict closer to stock suspension rules set. I think all older cars like the prior gen TSX used by RTR can run but likely with restrictions to either power or weight.

I read somewhere on a blog RTR would like to run 2x new 09 TSX and 3x the older car this season - thus far I think Cunningham is the only new style TSX but it's too early to really know that for sure we have a big gap before the remainder of the season.

From looking at the data on SCCA's website:

http://www.world-challenge.com/files...ix_A_Ver_2.pdf

Base weight on the 2G TSX seems to be the same as the 1G TSX.
Restrictor limit seems higher on the new 2G TSX than the old one, but maybe the 2G TSX has better intake airflow? There was no big news to the 2G being in the TC races prior to Sebring...so it will be interesting to watch this season!

If they do run 2x 2G and 3x 1G, it will be interesting to se if the added width makes any difference, and how the two genereations do comparitavly.

"Cunningham was pleased with his new car, built to new cost-reducing specs. “It never skipped a beat,” he said of the new Acura TSX. “What I was handed to drive was a tribute to RealTime and to Acura - it was ready for battle. We expect to have Pierre’s new ’09-spec car for the race at New Jersey Motorsports Park in May. The drivetrain hasn’t changed significantly, but we are encouraged by the improved handling of this new TSX.”

Sounds like they liked the 2G, and Pierre will be racing in the 2G in the next race...wow, can't wait to see that!
