New pics of vwong's car

Well, I'm tired of seeing the only pic of my car that was taken in front of my garage. So I went ahead and did a photoshoot of my car today before (and after) the meet. Here are a few of my favorites.

You can see the rest here, http://www.vwong.org/cl9.htm.

Enjoy.

As I'm sure those of us that were lucky enough to see it at the meet will agree, its even more impressive in person.

You can't tell from the pics, but his front fenders are slightly flared. It's really well done. I didn't notice until he pointed it out. He also made modifications to the plastic liner in the wheel well.

You mean he rolled the fenders? Hmmm.....I wanna know more on how it was done......most cars that I've seen with rolled fenders had paint cracking from where it was rolled.

Not only did he roll the lip of the fender, he actually also slightly flared the whole fender out a bit for more clearance.

Here's a recent thread on fender rolling. Post #4 shows the fender rolling tool.

Yes, that's the tool I used. However, since I was flaring the fenders out a bit, it was so difficult to get the fenders nice and smooth. The pics didn't show it, but there are some "waves" from the flaring. The waves aren't very obvious for most people, but since I was the one who did it, I knew they're there and this really bothers me. The car is going to a custom shop for straightening out the "waves", and making the flares more even.

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to use that tool to roll the rear fenders, just make sure you heat up the area pretty good, otherwise the paint will crack. On the passenger side (the first side I did), there are some cracks. However, on the driver side, it's perfect (other than the "waves").
