new car for the family + TSX fog light rewire pic

purchased IS250 AWD for my sister today, pretty much loaded except navi.

creamy white anf ice cold white, i love my tsx creamy PWP.

putting temporary license, i remember this moment when i got my 06 PWP 10 months ago

Prestige Lexus in Northern NJ, i bet they sold more than 20 cars today on memorial day.

clean

my 06 fog light rewired. i didn't use any extra parts or system. we cut the 2 wires around and connected them back again in a slightly different manner, so fog light comes on when parking lights are on. i got HId kit installed as well, 10,000K hella HID for now.

Simple impressions
TSX and IS250 are very very similar models. it's great to have both, experience the slight difference in daily driving.

so far, TSX feels wider and roomier inside, and drivers rather look "down" when cruising. IS feels "surrounded" inside, and the driver looks "up" when cruising.
it's interesting, because most of the features, options, and finish of both TSX and IS are almost the same,

another interesting feature is the manual shift on automatic. i've experienced it last year when i testdrove the IS before i purchased the 06 tsx, and i've mentioned about it in a-zine so many times...
my point is that the Lexus paddle shift is "jeremy clarkson way: rubbish" piece of junk. its response is so slow, almost like my parent's old 04 ML500 automatic shift.
i don't drive doing manual shifting all the time, but man we have to appreciate the responsive TSX sequential shifting. trust me it's about 1000 times faster/better.

anyways, i'll be babysitting my tsx for a week or two, and drive the IS.

nice and good job on the fogs....i agree that the IS is a little small....we were lookin at one for my GF and decided not to get it because it was too small....i almost hit the top of the ceiling inside .....and it was a little cramped....the drivers seat went almost all the way back with me........anyways...nice cars

i test drove the is250awd last week. it looks really nice in and out. also its very well built car. but it feels way too sluggish and backseat was too small. i think is250 will be very nice for ladies.

I've kind of been wondering what the IS250 with the M/T feels like.

I am getting '08 TSX PWP for my wife next week and would like to know where you got the lip spoiler and how to locate a dyi for the fog light rewire. I have done the rewire on '03TLS, but I am not sure if it is the same on the TSX. Thank you so much.

Before I got my 06 A4, I test drove an IS250 6MT. IMO, the overall acceleration was about the same as my 04 TSX. What was weird to me was the clutch. The engagement point was very vague to me. I had to release the clutch pedal almost completely to actually feel the clutch engaging. Because of this, I gave so much gas before engaging the clutch. The salesman must've been thinking if I was a noob with MT. I wonder if Lexus has the CDD (clutch dampening device) in the IS250 6MT as in their first gen IS 5MT. I'm glad that our TSX 6MT doesn't have this type of device. The TSX clutch feels more solid and better feedback.

To the OP, nice rides. If it wasn't for the dealer's mistake, I could've posted pictures similar to yours........except that both would've been silver.

Prestige Lexus sells 600 cars a month... 20 on Memorial Day would be an understatement. Who was your salesperson?

And yes I agree on the sport-shift mode... Honda really has that feature cornered; better than Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, and the domestics... you'd have to invest in the likes of Audi or BMW if you want to find a better responsive sport-shift mode than Honda's.

Fog Lights re wired

Hi

I was wondering if you have any detail on how you re wired your fog lights?

I want to do the same except a little different in that I want them to be on all the time as soon as the ingition is turner on.

Did you have a Acura TSX wiring diagragm?

thanks

Ed

lol why would it be illegal to drive with your parking lights on? They're just the side reflectors, and those are on by default on many cars

Very nice indeed. I really like the TSX (good thing since I own one) but when I saw the new IS250 I became jealous. It is an incredible looking car.

Do you drive an AT TSX? If so, the Lexus AT is sloppier?

I've only driven a DSG paddle shift, it was very nice. Too bad more companies don't move to a clutch-based automatic transmission like the DSG, it's more efficient - but I don't know about maintenance...

Congrats!

That's EXACTLY what I wanted. A white IS250 AWD. Instead, I got a tsx.....

In california, it is definitely illegal.

24800. No vehicle shall be driven at any time with the parking lamps lighted except when the lamps are being used as turn signal lamps or when the headlamps are also lighted.
Maybe that's why drive-in theaters are mostly gone now...everyone who came in late would get ticketed

I think foglights might fall under the category of headlamp though, so the mod might be fine. but it does look icky when i see people here driving with only their parking and foglights on
