New 2007 TSX owner and questions about modifications

Greeting, everyone! I am a new owner of 2007 Silver TSX Navi and by far loving it. I had my window tinted 35%, paint sealant, and include the OEM Front/Rear/Back underbody spoiler. I'm don't know much about cars and would like to kindly ask for your advise.

one question to start of with, how does the dropping process involves? I noticed that these TSX looks better when they are dropped. I do not want to do anything drastic, but would like to drop a reasonable measure. What would be your suggestion on this? Also, what is the side effect and downfall about this modification. Please advise.

FYI, I am happy to received $2800 off from MSRP for doing enough research. What I did was to output all the price quotes from about 15-20 dealers in midwest on the excel spreadsheet, and print off all the emails asking for a price match.

Below are a few pictures of my car. Thanks a lot, everyone!

Welcome to the board. A lot of your questions can be answered by browsing our Tires, Wheels, and Suspension subforum. Also, you should get familiar with the search feature, its amazingly handy.

Now, in short, lowering/dropping your car involves replacing your shock/spring assemblies with aftermarket ones. Acura's own A-spec suspension is an option (to lower about 1") or you could go with brands like Tein. Some are adjustible so you could set your own drop height. Side effects / downfall would include: (a) higher probability of scraping when going over speed bumps or up and down steep driveways, (b) a firmer/harsher ride, and (c) OEM wheels looking smallish after the drop.

Answer a mans question and he'll have follow up questions, teach a man to search and he'll never go wanting.

Thank you so much everyone for the warm welcome especially your suggestion, jlukja. I will definitely look at the suspension section and analyze different options including asking the dealer if that will void the warranty for having one inch lowered.

Don't worry about suggesting of using the search functionality. I'm a systems analyst and worked with search and indexes. I'm sure that the search is there for a reason especially with organized structure that we have here in the form.

Thanks again everyone and please suggest me anything to improve this new baby. I'm welcomed for any feedback (positive and negative remarks are welcomed).

Thanks again!

^^ You can go much lower than 1" with an aftermarket suspension. Acura's A-spec will get you only 1" lower. The advantage of A-spec is that it is an Acura product, designed specifically for the TSX, and will not void your warranty. If you have it installed by an Acura dealer at the time of purchase it will be included in the vehicle's 4yr/50k mi. warranty. If you just recently purchased your TSX then talk to your dealer to see if they can still install it and include it in the 4/50 warranty. The downside of dealer installation is that they will be much more expensive (twice as much?) than a regular install shop. The risk you take with something other than Acura product (eg. Tein) is that the dealer may not want to perform warranty work on other suspension components. The dealer can't void the warranty unless they can conclusively show that whatever the problem is a direct result of your aftermarket component. As an example, I have a Comptech RSB and the dealer refused to investigate the source of a suspension squeak because of this. They told me to take the car to whoever installed the RSB and have them look at it as it "probably wasn't installed correctly".

Congrats and nice color, thats what i have without the kit

Going off of what Jan (jlukja) said, i would just talk to your dealership because the one by my house told me that they would honor it even if i did the install myself since it was an Acura product. They could try and screw me later but i have had a good relationship with them so far! Also, the new 06-07 aspec suspension seem to lower the car a little more than an 1", mine did about 1.25" and most other have gotten that and 1-2 guys even got lower. I stayed with it because it won't void the warranty and its the closest ride to stock. I also put the comptech rear sway bar and the combination of these two = a really fun car! Again, my dealership didn't have any problems with the rear sway bar either!

Seeing the body kit on yours kind of makes me want it now

Welcome to the family!!

If you are planning on keeping the TSX for a while, check into getting a clear bra for the front end to help protect the paint ($400-$700 installed). I got the 3M clear bra on my A-spec front end, mirrors, headlights and fogs at time of purchase. I've noticed a couple of rock strikes that would have chipped my paint or maybe chipped the fog lights on the clear bra surface. After 13 months and 14,000 miles, the clear bra is worth the investment.

Thank you so much, everyone! I appreciate all of your suggestions and comments. I will definitely contact my dealer about having it lowered 1 inch. I do like this OEM acura underbody spoilers and really see the difference. It's not as nice as Mugen or other bodykits, but I'm a satisfied happy camper.

I just washed my car and below are the pictures (enjoy and thanks again everyone):
