My lame photos

I just debadged last weekend, and got my ICE-link installed yesterday, and put on a nice coat of NXT. So even though I don't have a body kit (which I plan to get) or the grill I've been lusting after for so long, or even new rims (which I'll get pending wife approval) I thought I'd take some photos. No time to go to a nice spot, either, so I promise when I get the grill, I'll go to a scenic overlook by the Hollywood sign and snap some photos.

Oh, and by the way: If anyone is planning on getting an ICE-link, go with the PanaVise mounting and not the ProClip. The PanaVise is metal and goes into the center console, the ProClip is mounted on the outside of the console.

Hope you guys like them, even though there's not many mods.

If you contact PanaVise, they can sell you a mount for about 30 bucks or tell you if they have a local reseller who can get you one for cheaper. Dension has ICE-links for both mini and regular-sized iPods.

More info on ICE-links here:

Although I don't understand the debadging, I must say it does look nice with the black.

what do you need to hook up an ipod to the car's stereo?

Yup! You can use the steering wheel controls. And it sounds great.

As far as cost, it was sorta expensive but not more than a set of tires.

You need the ICE-link for TSX, which ships with an SNHOND3: 250 including shipping.
Since I have navigation, I also needed a special harness from Honda to splice into the SNHOND3: 40 or so.
Mount from PanaVice: 30
Total so far: 320

Now, I don't trust myself to not mess up the splice and ruin the wiring and console and whatnot, so I had a pro install it. That was another 200. I was happy to pay it.

See links in my above post for more info on aux-in and ICE-link.

Now all you need to do is get rid of that hideous white color of the ipod and have it match your car:

i'm still waiting for my 3g ipod to conveniently break so i can trade it in for a 4g from best buy

now that you have the icelink, are you still able to navigate and control the iPod throught the iPod itself? or are you just limited to steerwting wheel contor?

Yeah, I can still control the iPod itself while its in the cradle, as well as with the steering wheel controls.
One of the things that I like is that the volume level on the actual iPod doesn't matter. The only thing that can control volume is the stereo. That was a problem I hated about the iTrip, apart from all its other shortcomings, and I imagine it would continue to aggrivate me had I gone with just an aux-in rather than the ICE-link.

I love the look of the BMW Style spoiler. If I end up picking up a TSX, I'm definitely including that. Where do you guys get those? And does it come painted matching your factory color?

Company called Sabersport. It does not come painted, you need to take it to a body shop to get painted. Runs around $80.

Nope. If you have one of the special Alpine setups it does, or if you have the Monster thingy with the separate screen that you can get. But never on our Navi. Phooey.

hey npence. I really like the setup that you have and it was one of the factors that motivated me to get the icelink. I found this link for anyone else who's interested in the mount...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...28136&tc=photo

One question though, does it require drilling or does the mount held in with screws that are already there?

Thanks! Glad you like it. I had mine installed by pros, but from what I can tell it requires no drilling. Here's a link to the Panavise instructions:
http://panavise.com/nf/comm/indash/i...artn=75116-604

Good luck with the install, and nice find on the ebay mounting!

Basically, if anything goes wrong with it you can exchange it for a new one. If the model you have isn't in stock, they will give you store credit.

For the most part, I'm not sure how it'll work on the 4 year warranty for the ipod, but on my 2 year warranty for my old Karma, they just gave me a new one and after the 2nd one busted i switched it out for the ipod. Since the 3G ipod is out of production, they'll give me the same amount to buy something else from the same category. In this case the $400 for the 20gb ipod will buy a new 40gb ipod. Which i intend to get painted something other than white from colorwarepc.
