i feel sorry for the person who thinks they found a real mugen kit, as the seller is purposely ambigious about the kit. $1700, yeah right, but he doesn't say its Mugen

Couple of things... an 02-Up TSX... that's a classic giveaway.

Next, who would buy that crapped up kit. I mean, it looks terrible.

What a goof. LOL

I WAS SO PISSED when my friend send my that link!! I hate to know there's a FAKE (fine... i will be nice REPLICA) Mugen lip kit floating around now. It might make people think that the people who have the REAL Mugen Lip kit (i wonder who :troutslap) have a fake one... and therefore think that they are cheap.....

I also saw one member have the front lip on, unpainted on the other site, and apparently, this lip kit was only avaliable at Toronto locally, since that company did not do shipping. The whole kit was sold for about 1000 cdn, so the seller is lying about the 1700 he dropped.

the real one has silver rings on the front lip, the replica don't
the real one has two holes for the reflectors in the rear lip, the fake don't
the real one has perfect fitment, and the replica one need quite alot of work (according to bodyshop)
Also, the having the real one makes you feel better

Wow..yes i heard some Toronto TSX's have replica mugen lips (havent seen any yet).

Cant imagine people with replicas since they are made of cheaper fibreglass material which are more prone to cracking. I hit my oem lip hard many times and scratched up the bottom but its still in one piece.

Anyone one with these kits are easy to spot as Benz mentioned especially in the no cut-out for the rear reflectors and chrome vents in the front...

Best to use the $1700 to buy the OEM lip, the hondata reflash and still have $$ left.

Acutally~ Not even $1000CAD~!

I was in Pacific Mall last week, and got attracted by a car performance store (forgot the name) w/ Discount 18" Wheels in the front for display. I walked in and ask for the price for whole set of rims, eventually, I asked about intake and body kit. One of the sales told me they can get me "Fake" (or replica) Mugen Lip, and it was only $860 or $880CAD incl. Tax IF you pay cash. I asked them if they are fibreglass, they said it's ABS Plastic but comes in Unpaint. They showed me a picture of it from their Computer but it was so dark and I can't see shit from it. I wonder what kind of quality is it.

WOW $880 CDN for a replica?

You know after painting it and installing it with all the labour and work needed to make it fit, its going to cost you more than getting an authentic Mugen lip...

So is it a known replica? Or are we all just assuming it since it's so cheap and not advertized as Mugen? It's last years Mugen kit anyway, now that the new ones are out we will see more knock offs. I wouldn't mind buying a knock off front bumper

I guess it's ok... it's just a lip kit and just for aesthetics anyway.... not like the authentic ones dont' crack if you hit a curb or something... (a bumper cover replacement would be a different story) It's just a few pieces of plastic/polyurethane/whatever....as long as it fits and have nice paint on it that's properly prepped it's gonna look and last the same.... I mean, even for the OEM kit, it's $800 for 4 pieces of 'plastic' (which I have )... bodykits are overrated if you think about it

oh btw, where do you get the EuroR kit for the best price?

I have a set of those sitting in my garage right now.
For some reason I just had to see it myself with my own eyes as how's the quality.
It sure is ABS plastic. No holes were drilled to attach to the factory mounting points at all. No holes for the red reflectors.
As far as putting it on I don't think it'll be anytime soon since I want the OEM instead.
FYI: The guy just acted plain stupid when I started asking question about the kit. I even showed him a pic of the real kit and he claimed that he got it from "Japan".
Anyway.

All I got is the pics that the seller is providing.
The quality of the kit itself is pretty good. I was actually surprised that it was that good. The downside is that you'll need a "professional installation". Drilling is required.

The Mugen knock off kit looks exactly like the Mugen real kit. mine has the spots for the reflectors in it. yes it didnt come with the silver inserts but thats fine cause i got carbon fiber inserts. yes it does need some minor drilling for the pop rivits for the mounting locations. but all in all u wouldnt notice the diffrence.

People are just mad that they spent a total of 900.00 on the real one. i got mine for 400.00 shipped from the guy on ebay. i bartered with him on the phone and got him to come down on his price to 325.00 kit 75.00 shipping.
So for a total of 800.00 with painting and installing from my local body shop i got my kit on my car and it looks awesome!

Like it says above, body kits are overrated. real or fake, average joe is not gonna know the diffrence parked or when u cruise by. the only person whos gonna know is the guy who paid for it and talks about it.

While fakes can be pretty good, they're not on the same level as those with the real thing. Many fake owners take pride in people liking their cars because those people think they have the expensive real thing.

I have no problem w/ people just liking the Mugen style and wanting to pay less, but those people shouldn't pretend they have the real thing.

Oh i agree i would be the first to admit mines a knockoff and have no problem with saying it. hell im jewish and i saved some money!! Ha! but it looks nearly identical. but im sure theres some sort of diffrence somehow. but man i dont care. looks good to me. and all i care about is how i feel ya know. opinions are like A$$Holes...everyones got one and they usually stink...so i dont care ya know

I totally agree. Nothing wrong with having replica. I had this big argument with this dude ShowandGoTsx from the other forum about his Mugen front lip. He's currentlly January Tsx of the month, from the pics you can tell it's not authentic cause there are no silver inserts in the holes, but he keep insisting it's authentic Mugen. Finally had to stop harassing him cause he was getting pissed.

in my opinion who cares if its fake or real. if u like it thats all that counts. i dont boast mines real authentic mugen. im not a liar. i say its a mugen style kit or a replica mugen. thats what i say when someone asks. besides not too many people have this car in the area of the jersey shore where i live. mines parked at my house or my PD where i work or once in a while the Post when im working on the EMS truck. i just got bored of it looking all plain lol. but i love the car again. the kits awesome. its what i could afford. and thats bottom line ya know

BTW- the fitament is not bad at all. yes it does take some time but hey when ur a perfectionist like my body guy is, no matter fake or real, he took his time with it and u can tell. i dont want to be that guy that sits here and is like all u guys dont know what ur talking about fake or real or anything but to be honest, In my opinion only, it was well worth the money and not worth the 800-900 for the real kit. and thats my opinion. not asking for backlash or anything. but its only what i know. maybe if i run into someone with a real one one day or pull them over than ill see the diffrence. but from what i got and seen to me it was money well spent.

Man! We bought from the same seller and now i'm kinda pissed cuz I paid more.
Oh well, mind if I ask how much did you pay for having the kit painted and install.
Funny thing, mine doesn't have cut out holes for the rear reflectors.

So you paid $300 just for the sides and did the front and back yourself?
