My rear independent DVD player...this was the only option as the front seats are Recaro and could not do any monitor mounting anywhere...

This set is all-in-1 with the DVD loading at back and I connected the sound to the AUX of my Pioneer set and use the speakers for sound output....Plays pretty decent video and has built in small speakers too.

Any comments?

This is the stock Jap 6 CD changer Premium set. As seen, we have very different sets from the TSX, more the Accord model type, but the Japanese uses Alpine, outside Japan, more Matshashita sets for the 6CD change etc.

The gear knob is S2000 with a leather wrap piece and the gear stick wrap is leather with red trimmings to match the hand brakes leather with red thread trimmings too. Did this as I felt the handbrake lever was a little "skinny" and thus made it bigger for my braod hands...

Woah, I would have never imagined someone would pay so much for J's racing and Gruppe-S carbon fiber products and then paint it! It does look good and people who know those brands will have no problem recognizing what is hidden beneath

The gruppe is "Guppy", sir, as it was designed as a heat shield to fit all types of open pods design. Gruppe M design was specific to their K&N cones and inlet mounts. I use HKS intake and thus this Guppy was designed as the heat shield. At the bottom, I have a DIY l-shape rubber hose from 3 inch to 7 inch diameter, so that it scopes air upwards to feed the HKS intake. In the front bumper, there is the Mugen air scope that diverts air from front to the side chamber and then my DIY L-shap scoops it upwards to form a "positive" pressure within the heat shield to prevent hot air from engine bay to come in....

Just some of my DIY works that customises to my needs....

Just occurred to me there may be some small DIY projects to do but so far, had no real inspiration as rather tired and rather filled the time with just resting...any new stuff for your side?

This car has been 3 years of work. I travel quite abit, thus having only moments to work on the mods. This Feel's engine damper is located at the egine mount closes to the firewall. It does not creat vibrations like the Spoon version. It feels a little soft and quite a pain to get it out to increase the stiffness. Thus, i am working on a DIY engine damper using Neuspeed similar to Spoon's damper but a much softer damper to add and counteract the engine damping. Hopefully, it does not create virbations like the Spoon. Needs plenty of trial n error...

just to check, increasing the stiffness of the FEEL's ETD, is shortening the length of the pink nut? cos my current setting is the pink nut has ~3 threads exposed after the lock nut is tighten...

Just did my other experiment on the damper. The spoon type is such that should extend the length while maintaining the compression inside. best option is actually replacing the 2 rubber bushings inside to stiffer ones.

The FEEL's one, I did not have time to strip it down and see. I suspect similar bushing set up, however, need to extend the length while maintaining the compression to the bushing. So, I think is tightening the nut on the bushing. Try it and let me know if it works. My FEEL's damper went in already and a pain in the butt to get it out. I also feel it is a little soft.

Thus, my other damper is a little hard. You looking for Spoon engine damper? I have one for sale...

Did the experiment and still has some vibration. Happens when the airconditioning kicks in. I need to find a softer bushing. So far, no luck.

From the looks of it...more than likely have some stuff brewing for '09.

Can't wait to see your future updates.

previously i have the spoon ETD... but removed it after 1 week, even i set it to the softest, i can't stand the vibration & the sound it's generating from the engine bay....

i've tried the FEEL's settings with the pink nut fully in (shortening the length of the thread), it seems to be vibrating alot with the compressor kicks in, as compare to my previous settings of about 3 threads expose from the lock nut.... well i've removed it after i took it for a ride...

it's really pain in the butt, especially the nut @ the engine mount area while removing the ETD...

regards

Yup, this needs some fine tuning for the Feel's and a butt pain to remove to do this as compared to Spoon's one.

Yup, the aircondition compressor is the root of this damping evil. I am exploring other ways using the Spoon set up and see how to reduce vibrations on their current design. Will take some time , though...

LOL! My problem is that I have a Phase (now Feel's) lower lip and grill. I also have a Mugen bumper 03 version and curently staying with the Mugen 03lower lip as it is rare here.

Any further 09 laundry mods, could be a re-look face lift, by playing around these options.

i still have some other DIY ideas :

Rear strut bar above. I cannot seem to get the right bracket mount. I may have to drill 2 holes to fit the brackets I find available.

Re-assign battery position lower, to increase airbox area and lowering the battery centre of gravity into a more cooler air blowing area.

Re-use back the stock airbox, buy modified for air intake. Alternatively, use the fan blower, as it has proven 4 hp at peak on dyno.

Another idea, but can't share this here at the moment. Apologies.

I am holding back the order as

1. Waiting to see your dyno results ==> K24 test results first...
2. Rather expensive at US$100 DDP for 4 plugs. It could get me easily 8pcs of NGK / Denso.

Had my first 24hrs heat test on the lower rear DIY diffuser. Seemed to hold out well against heat distortion. Need to actually do a fast run and feel if the back "floats" or any "wind" noise. Some rain will help, but will need to be driving behind my own car to actually see the air-water flow out. Potentially could mould out FRP and then anyone could order a piece but this would be too long shot. Else, could spray it red and have this peeping out from the rear. FRP would make it easier to spray red.

Yes, some more ideas rolled around for a while but simply no time.

1. Relocating my battery for air cooling purposes.
2. Relay with new ICE distributors for earthing for aesthetics purposes
3. Thinking of legal extractor, expensive though.
4. Leather uphostery
5. Relocating gauges to A pillars, one side or both sides.

Problem is each project takes time and access. Also feeling lazy now.

Good luck. How will u be doing the dyno, with new stock plugs vs Pulse plugs and u will do an oil change prioir to the dyno?

I am getting itchy if the high firing cables using pulse plugs could be any better. guess it will remain an itch....

Pics of latest mods, any comment welcome!

'08 rear Mugen modified with diffuser, made of ABS material. British-black strip on diffuser. Lower undercarriage has DIY extended width & lengthe diffuser to connect to Mugen modified lip. Local availability of this Modified lip, only for '08 bumper Euro R.

I recall somewhere in other folders about doing a fog light protection...well, here is my wire mesh solution over the foggies... Note the tint of the mesh that gives it the "fuzzy" outlook...

Still toying playing with all 3 looks...Mugen Bumper, Feels lower lip or this Mugen lower lip.... Let me know...

I think this looks really good. the only suggestion I would have is to remove the front chrome honda emblem if you can.

it would look really good without that chrome piece sticking out like a sore thumb.

Thank u for your comment. 2nd person to say this. No problems and here is the background thoughts :

1. It was from my old Euro R, CL1, so it is a little special rememberance...

2. The DC5 has this too. Thought it looked somewhat different to give it a little more "stock" look. Too many Mugen grills similar, had this in front to see how it looks.

I think it is ok, giving it some character. Detacheable, just a little lazy to take it off....

I may put back on my Feel's grill instead. Does not fit so well now, and has a little beak at the bottom end....
