How did you do the re-wire?

Another member was supposed to post a simple way to do it, but I never saw it again.

if its the same rewiring as my 7th Gen Accord foglight rewiring than i think it's easy.

WARNING! THIS ISN'T THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TSX! This is for the 2003-2005 7th Gen Accord Coupe. If the wires are the same, you assume the risks if you decide to rewire it yourself.
here are the instructions.
these instructions are Do-It-Yourself! they may or may not woid your warranty! they may or may not **** up your car! you assume all risks if you try this mod! questions are welcome, complaints are not! thanks

In the 7th Gen fog switch there are 5 wires:
Red/Blk - Hot with Parks & Heads on / In for illumination
Red - Out for illumination control
Blue - Hot with Heads on only / In for switch
Green - Out from switch to Relay #2
Black - Ground wire
**only the Red/Blk & Blue wires are actually hot**

1) You don't need to remove the dash or anything! Simply use a small hook tool, & pull the outer trim on the 3 switch panel. the panel & all 3 switches with pop out together.
2) Unplug the 3 switches from their wiring harnesses. Put switches aside in a safe place.
3) Peel back black electrical tape / wiring cover to allow yourself more slack to work with. You can use scissors or a razor but be careful not to cut any wires!
4) Cut the blue wire, leaving at least 3 inches of slack on the plug end. Strip a small section of the plug end. Cover the firewall end with a small piece of electrical tape.
5) Splice into the Red/Black wire, but do not cut it!!!
6) Connect the plug end of the Blue wire to the spliced Red/Black wire. You can do this with butt connectors, soldering, or simply threading the wires together & capping them. It a personal preference, so do what you're comfortable with.
7) Double check all connections. Plug fog switch back in only & test! do not put back into dash.
8) If successful, wrap all connections in electrical tape. Plug all switches back in. Mount panel back into dash with slight pressure
9) Enjoy!!!

yeah i would like a DIY writeup on the foglight rewire. I just picked up a HID kit for my fogs, and they look amazing lol even blueer than my stock headlights. I have an 06. Leaving the foglights on without the headlights looks amazing especially with HID fogs

alrite i can get a diy going. but unfortunately, when i was doing this, i didnt take any pics. i would simply go and take pics of the install but i dont have my car with me. its at the shop still. i did this on my 07, and i heard that the relay for the fog light rewiring is different for the 04/05s so i cant help those folks. but if someone can take a pic of their foglight relay then thatll be nice. i can better assist with the diy..in the mean time; ill have to draw out a diagram if i have time.

I rewired my 06 fogs long ago, However I used a separate relay and Honda switch that fits the dash perfectly. I don't know about the other fellow, but my fogs will turn off if I leave them on, as the power to the relay comes from the parking lights. The switch on the steering wheel still works the same, but my honda dash switch will always override it.

what i did was tap it with the parking lights and use the regular foglight switch. so in order to turn on the fogs, u still have to turn the parking lights on but not the headlights. and like the parking lights, the fogs will turn off as well if left on.

Cool, that is the way I wanted to do mine, but at the time no one had the knowledge to do so. I got the factory manual and saw how your way could be done. However, since I like gadgets, it looks cool have the honda switch sitting in the blanks space on the dash and lighted at night I will need to reread how you did it.

i was about to get my hands dirty with the rewiring but now you got me nervous. we seriously need help. it looks more complicated than it sounds. i've looked at peregrine's diagram and all the previous discussions of the modification but dont seem to get it.

though peregrines info does tell us how to do it, most of its discussions are for the 04/05's, so it can get a bit confusing.

here is a diagram of the relay.

you have to add some wires of your own to extend to connect to the parking ligths and to the switch(blue/white). you should solder these wires together, not with those plastic connectors

thanks for all your help. earlier i could open up the top of the relay, but how to detach it from the fuse box..?? it's attached pretty good to the side of the fuse box. do i push it down for pull it upward? I assume the foglight harness is attached under this relay? this should get unplugged too right? so i tried for half an hour to disconnect this foglight harness from the relay. is there any screws that need to be removed in order to detach/disconnect all this??

electrical wire or automotive wire is what it is called. you can get it at any hardware store(home depot, radioshack, etc., even walmart). i used some wire i already had at home. the ones i used were 16gauges(thickness) but 18s would be better cuss i think 16s are too thick.

Quick Reply: Finally rewired the fogs!
