Fender Flares!

Anybody have fender flares (or pix of) on their TSX? I think the TSX would look swweeeet with some fender flares and deep dish rims and dropped with some coil overs

What about those eyebrow/eyelid things that run across the top of the headlight?

im not talking about big huge fender flares, but subtle ones like the M3 has...I think they make the car look more agressive and allow for slightly wider tires. the S4/A4's and the 3 series coupes look real nice with slight flares. and i think it would look good on the TSX too.

why does it seem people want to turn the TSX into a....typical rice burner...the body is clean lets keep it that way go for a look that adds unquiness but class to the car. not a 12 inch wing huge mouth body kit and 22in chrome rims. come on now lets be real here its not a supra, its not a civic it has a class all in its own lets maintain that but add a lil flavor into it =) more HP and TQ along with subtile body mods nothin to out rageous..it will take away from the car

i dont see how that fender flares are rice? the M3 and a lot of other cars come with it for styling and PERFORMANCE reasons (to fit wider tires). flaring the fenders is just the same as adding a body kit...so i don't understand...unless we're talking about 2 different things.

I didn't say I wanted to add 22 in chrome rims OR 12 inch wing...fender flares will allow for some WIDER rims (I never said bigger in diameter). i dont think slight fender flares will take away from the car...just like comparing the BMW 330 to the M3...the M3 flares just a bit more, but looks so much nicer. very subtle, yet noticable. I'm not saying I want to put some 5" flares and some 20X10 rims...I'd like some subtle flares and put some deep dish rims on it.

The TSX is just not your typical car that people would do something like that to.

Here's a dumb question: How do you add fender flares?
Do you have to replace the whole fender? I've seen people roll their fenders to put bigger wheels in without rubbing but it doesn't really make the fenders flare out. It just frees up more space on the inside of the fender.

Mots of the time the look is achived by a tack-on fender flare.

Yup, which doesn't allow you to have wider wheels anyways.

Wow. If that's what they really do it's x 3.14159265

How does that even give you more space? Do they have to cut into the arch or something?

Some kits go over the full fender and some replace the fender. Because it flares out so much at a different slope than stock, it allows you more room under the "new" wheel well to allow a set of wider wheels. I don't think he means bigger by height, but actually by width.
Either way, I think it would not look good. Comparing a TSX styling to an M3 is just not right either.

Try this instead -- SUV-style "Step bars" instead of ground-effect "side spoilers".

Picture a body-colored nearly-flat 5" platform jutting out from the side of the car down at ankle height. With blue LEDs. :-) Or a chrome tube, if you prefer.

Now, you might argue on TASTE or MERITS... but I contend it's smarter and more functional than a big rear wing spoiler on a FWD car.

-- Besides, the more you [EFF] the look of your car up, the less likely it is to get stolen. :-)

Well I used 6.02x10^23 the last time and considering wheels are round, I thought Pi would be appropriate.

Uh, if I added fender flares, I would obviously not just tack on a flare for looks without allowing for more space for the wheels (if you read my threads I've been talking about adding wider tires).

Anyway, so apparently this community believes adding fender flares to allow for wider tires is equivalent to big rear wings, blue neon lights, and 22" chrome rims.

And I never said M3 = TSX, I was mereley using a M3 as an example for how subtle of a fender flare im talking about. I'm not talking about the kind you see on late 80's nissans taht flare out 5" each way and then extending my 13" wheels out...but whatever.

Photoshop it and see how it turns out. I stand by the opinion that it'll be ugly, but if you can show me wrong, I'm all for it. As far as flared fenders and deep dish wheels, they look best on coupes or sports cars, not sedans. There are no pics as its never been done, so be the first

hahaha

you know, im not even really going to put fender flares...but since all of u started disagreeing with me, i wanted to play the devils advocate...I STILL think it would look good...but I never really had the intentions to do it...i just don't see myself cutting up fenders on a brand new car...maybe after the warranty's over and a few years down the line...but not now.
