A friend of mine puts his tag on the lower left corner of his windshield, where his registration tags are. It's a little more discreet there and he hasn't had problems triggering at the booth. As for me, I just hold it up when I go through. Haven't gotten in trouble for it yet..

I have an I-Pass, similar to EZ-Pass, but mines is for the Illinois State Tollways.
I didn't want it on my windshield because like you said its tacky and it might get stolen, so I have my I-Pass in the glove box and it still works fine for me. The sensors at the toll still detects it even if its in the glove box.

I have mine up in the spot right behind the mirror.
edited to add: when I didn't have it up, having to downshift and hold the thing up to be scanned while going through the toll gate was a pain--there's nothing like when some a-hole in an SUV jumps into the Smart Tag lane in front of you--and you have to abruptly slow down.

don't mean to dig this up from the dead, but I got a question about stickers.
As far as I can tell VA state stickers have to be placed in the lower middle of the winshield like ssm_tsx's. But I see plenty of pics of TSX's w/ their stickers in the lower left (pics from NJ meet ).
Does it vary state to state or what?

I think the inspection stickers are state-specific. And wtf's up with those county stickers in VA?? That's lame :thumbsdn:

Hi,
Is it possible for you to take it off? Here we have some transponders for the toll roads. All I do is keep it in the glove or the center compartment or the dash while im on the *small handful* of toll roads that exist in Orange County. I then put it back in when im off the road.

Here in California, we pay only state tax so there is only a sticker on your license plate. When I was a kid, my family lived in Chicago, and I remember the whole right edge of the windshield with "Cook County" stickers on it.

Those of you in IL.... If you go to Jewel you can get this black plastic thing with a suction cup on it for like 5 bucks to put the ipass in. It fits up above the mirror on the tint stripe and since theres no glue it wont mess anything up. It's nice because you can't see it from the outside of the car and it blends in well with the ebony interior so it's not a big deal on the inside either.
