that looks good did you have to cover up anything when you hosed it down. Also was the engine hot, warm or cold?

I put a plastic bag around the alternator...

i drove the car around the block for about 5 mins... just so the engine was warm to the touch... but not burning...

You might consider cleaning it when it's cold. Hope you didn't warp the cylinder head...

Btw, did you use water as well?

Just clean with cloth and water should be fine.

^^ you should be fine. i seriously doubt you'd warp the head for just 5 minutes. i see the acura techs do it all the time in the shop, and they charge you $$$ just to hose down your engine, lol.

It depends... Just because someone does it all the time doesn't mean it's right. Do you drive your car to those automatic car wash places? Can you imagine the cold water spraying over the warm/hot brake rotors? Ever thought about the possibility of warp rotors? Most people don't and they do it all the time too.

FYI, don't spray the water directly on any of the fluid reservoirs either. As if brake fluid doesn't attract enough water already....

BTW, nice job. I'm jealous!

You should search our Wash & Wax Subforum. There are a number of threads on this. Here is one of them to get you started:

I use spay and wash. Cleans all the grease and grim and is very gentle. Just spray on and hose off. Been using it for years, and have found nothing better.

Give it a try and you will agree. Just make sure it is spray and wash. The other similar products are not as good.
