DIY Headlight Black Outs

So my friend though it was a good idea to use DIY tint to make eyelids for his wrx. He had some tint left over so I proceeded to make my own blackouts. It took me about 20 minutes per headlight, and there were still bubbles after squeegeeing 50 times. The flat part of the headlight is really easy, the bubbles start forming around the curved section. It's really unavoidable to not have any bubbles. My advice: DON'T DO YOUR OWN TINT

you have to heat the tint around the bends so it stretches into place, that'll get rid of the bubbles. But not a huge fan myself, but deffinately different!

I think it would look okay if you would have tinted the sidemarkers only.

I guess I forgot to post that this was a temporary thing and I took the tint off after I took pics. The light output was only slightly affected and it seemed bright enough to drive at night since the hid's pierce right through. The pics really don't do justice, all my buddies thought it looked really good in person, but its off now so it doesnt matter...

the light output is equivalent to that of a halogen bulb; ie: not dangerous. the tails would be a different story.

stop being such an asshole

thread starter: i would recommend taking it a few % lighter on the tint.

cccccchokey or whatever----stop being a douche.

Harsh remarks. I think if the tint was a little lighter it might look better.

Yes it did, the tint barely made an effect on light output since it was so thin
