Couple Photos From The Big Block

Okay, there's no big block in there (it's the big-block K-series, I guess!) but I washed/clayed/polished/klassed/P21'd the rig this weekend and wanted to post a couple quick photos. So, I did. First one's pretty conventional.

Second one is my attempt at being artsy in my driveway...

I wish I had the energy to do this to mine as well but I am too lazy to do this. Good job it looks spectacular. It looks like a brochure pic or something.

Thanks for all the compliments! I think the lines of the TSX are the most timeless of any Acura. And NHB is terrific when it's clean and polished! The whole process was about a five-hour affair (plus an hour the next day for a second coat of P21s). As for the Klasse AIO and P21s, there's just nothing better.

That is stock ride height, by the way. But not for long...

Man, I like it seeing it again too. That first pic with the sunset on the car could be in the brochure.

You know, that's true. It's the first time I've posted pics of my car (other than scratched bumper/fixed bumper). It's a stock TSX (on the outside, anyway) so I never really saw the need until I spent so much time polishing it. Thanks, all, for the great compliments!

I came in here with the intent of drawing the same analogy. I don't know if it is the lighting/photography, but that has to be the cleanest-looking TSX I've ever seen.

As somebody already pointed out, the pics look straight from TSX brochure. Very nice and clean.

At the risk of sounding lame, what is P21?

Its a wax that costs twice as much as S100, but is the exact same thing.

Thanks, Jan. After my "brush" with the weed-whacker car wash -- "Please back away from the velvet touch carwash, gentlemen" -- I have been on a mission to polish the shit out of my car. I have to say that clay, a PC polisher, Sonus SFX 1 & 2, Klasse AIO, and P21s, plus elbow grease, do wonders.

For some reason, a clean car just seems to drive better... Thanks again for the compliments, means a lot coming from you guys. I mean, even Joerockt complimented me -- he must be drunk.

Jealous of your clean ride and weather... I haven't washed my car for almost 3-4months.

I really like the first pic where you see a hint of sunset (sunrise?) colors reflecting on the black paint. Very brochure like. As far as joerockt's compliment, IMHO he was finally sober.

Both photos were taken just after the sun went below the horizon -- it gives you that soft glowing sky with the oranges and reds and blues. Late-afternoon is the best time for that type of shot, the low sun gives great light. With the sun more overhed, especially with a polished car, you get a lot of sharp reflections that look busy and don't follow the car's lines well.

I also used the telephoto (3x is all I have) to reduce depth-of-field and give more attention to the car, less to the background. Man, I sure wish I had a digital SLR instead of my 6-yr-old 2mp. I need to stop spending all my money on car parts...

Tein Basics or a Digital Rebel . . . Tein Basics or a Digital Rebel . . . maybe I need to do a poll.

^^^ I can't help it, I just love making stuff myself. Half of it is a learning process, what really works and what doesn't. Half of it is cheapness, and half is just wanting to spend time in the garage tinkering rather than paint the basement.
