Wink Brought a New Friend Home for Our TSX

We got a new friend for our 6Spd Navi TSX; other one was always sick (Focus Wagon) and needed too much attention

So we got a Fit LX 5 Spd manual to be our main winter car. It is presently on Toyo winters but still handles increadebly well. Will get some nice wheels & tires in the spring. This thing is so much fun to drive Not surprising I read in an S2000 forum the other day that those guys are buying this thing as a second car.

Awesome little "City Car"! A friend of mine had a 2003 Fit back at home and although the engine is really small, that thing could definately get-up-and-go! Enjoy!

South of the border, the base model goes for about $15,000 USD. This is the LX, sold in Canada as the mid between the base ($15,000 CD) and the Sport ($20,000 CD). It goes for about $17,000 CD.

It is expensive versus the competition but the back seat/ cargo area is amazing. Since the gas tank is under the drivers seat, the back seat folds completly flat and gives surprizing capacity. Also the fit & finish was better than my TSX ; after going through the car, found only one snag (improperly seated windshield seal). When I got my TSX last year, it had more than five snags. It is built in Japan, like the TSX. The manual gearbox models are so popular (read not available) that they have now made the automatic 5 Spd a no cost option

Congrats on the car. Fits are the lovely city cars. My gf has one and we both love it! It's a bit more expensive than it's competitors, but the quality, design, and finish truly makes up for it.

nice purchase!!

such a light car...the 150 horsepower should be plenty...

I couldn't help but notice the TL in the background in the 2nd picture...

the wheels, actually more like hubcaps, are those winter set up? or is that how TLs are over there?

cuz it looks butt ugly

Nice Fit!

After seeing how small the Fit is, it makes the TSX look big.

Actually that's 109 HP

As for the TL in the back, you're right, those are winters & plastic hub caps , a must in these parts as we're close to getting in the snowy season here.

This car actually gets good safety ratings as it gets 6 airbags on all models.

The handling on this thing is amazing I don't know if it's because of the short wheelbase or the EPS (electric power steering) but it is extremely responsive. It's also got DBW (drive by wire) throttle, like the TSX. Gas pedal needs getting used to; it seams you just look at it and it's up to 4,000 RPM

I would recommend fellow TSX'ers stop by their local Honda dealer and ask for a test drive; when the salesman sees your TSX, tell him you want to trade it in for 2 Fits

I got a Fit Sport AT as a replacement for my 2003 focus wagon. It is a great complement to the TSX. I had considered the Mini Cooper S but I enjoy the Fit as much (driving like a grandma) and saved $15K keeping within the Honda family...

Congrats and enjoy fellow Canuck!

I like the Fit a lot, but the most minor thing would irritate me: the lack of a center arm rest!
Does that bother any of you that own one?

Yes, the lack of an armrest is a little annoying . Also no dead pedal. Might buy those aftermarket. There are some good ones out there

Will be in Japan in two weeks might try and bring one back.

no way its more expensive. my gf owns a Fit sport. its the best for its value. take the yarus and put all the standards the Fit comes with ... it becomes more expensive than the fit

Took a Fit LX for a spin tonight, and unfortunately, I don't think I'll be getting one.

My upper body fit fine, but the leg position was very awkward for me. It would be uncomfortable for me to drive for any distance. If the pedals were about a foot farther towards the front of the car, it would be much better. I can't for the life of me figure out why they don't have a dead pedal in there? Seriously, could they be any more stingy? It's mandatory IMO to have one if you're driving a manual.

The handling was quite good, but I think I would like the civic's 1.8L under the hood instead. I live in suburbia with lots of merging from 50 kph streets to 80 kph and I just felt it to be a little underpowered. Not much, but another 20-30hp would make a big difference. If I lived right downtown, then it wouldn't be an issue at all.

The seats are ingenious and it's a very practical car overall. The civic would just be a better match for my needs though.

I think you're right Dan,

For most people, the Civic is probably a more logical choice

But in our case, we were looking for a bicycle ambulance

The whole family does a lot of cycling and we need to go out and pick up the pieces every so often. Bikes Fit pretty good in the Fit, anyways better than in a Civic.

Have been considering a bigger rubber band in the Fit

Might help with low end torque
