Acura invites public to view new RL in lounge setting

Toronto, Ontario - Acura is launching their flagship vehicle the 2005 Acura RL with a unique program in city centres in Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver. The program includes a 2005 Acura RL and a lifestyle lounge providing guests an opportunity to experience the elegantly styled interior and the athletic exterior of the Acura RL in a luxurious, modern setting. The program is unique in that it provides consumers with an opportunity to speak one-on-one with Acura representatives and experience the Acura RL in an intimate environment.

"More than a static vehicle display, the product placement program for the 2005 Acura RL is designed to appeal to the target market's lifestyle and evoke an emotional connection with the Acura RL," said Dave Gardner, Acura National Sales Manager. "The RL highlights Acura's focus on developing a truly luxurious sedan and we're pleased to provide consumers with an opportunity to experience our flagship vehicle."

Program Schedule

Montréal
Les Cours Mont-Royal October 18 - 22
Complexe Desjardins October 27 - 29

Toronto
Commerce Court West and Jump Café October 18 - 22
BCE Place October 27 - 28
TD Centre November 1 - 5

Vancouver
Vancouver Public Library October 21 - 24
Pendulum Gallery November 1 - 6
Park Place November 15 - 19

Went down there today with Neochaser...I personally like the car but the "lounge" setting is worse than crap...and those chicks doesn't know what they are about:

Chick: "There's a 'Blue-chip-tooth' in this car..."
Us: "You mean Blue-Tooth"
Chick: "Right"

Chick: "Also the stereo system is 'BOSS'."
Us: "You mean 'BOSE'."
Chick: "...right"

Us: "Is this car DOHC or SOHC?"
Chick: "See? Here's it's SH-AWD (showing us the brochure). It means Super..."
Us: "I mean up there at the engine column. SOHC..."
Chick: "...right..."

Ya, they better soften up the Canadian market with lots of donuts and coffee. They should hope they're sleeping when they get around to that $69,995 price tag.

Had - I just noticed that my '05 Ody Touring has the same MID (multi-information display) as the RL ...

The RL is no doubt a sweet ride.

I was checking out the RL section of the Acura website, and I want to know why Acura doesn't place some of the software-based features into the other vehicles... such as voice-to-text input and multi-destination trips in the navi. Seems like it wouldn't cost a thing to add to the TSX...

Of course, Acura may not do it just for the sake of leaving such features for the super luxury sedan only. The RL needs some bragging rights...

Oh also this car is made in Japan...so the build quality is far better than those ones build in NA.

Using good looking girls to draw people in is so 80's IMO. Like Kanon said, they had no clue what they were talking about, they probly end up hurting more than they help.

And besides that girl, 5 out of 10 at best.

But skin sells and it doesn't matter what we think since the ones with the money to buy the car are really the ones they were targeting (and we all know rich conservatives are )...

It's automatic...once you release the handle the hood slowly moves up...

and the truth is that the girl in the pic is not very good except she shows some skin...there's another one but she is wearing a big coat...so

Where's the Bose logo? Usually they plaster their logo all over their products.

They do it all the time. Even at major car shows, the people they send are uninformed and have absolutely no automotive knowledge. Ask them any question and they're pretty much stumped.

I think it would have been nice had they shown the RL with the optional wheels.
