Talking 3M Scotchguard Clear Bra Installed

Hello All.

Took some pictures today of the 3M Clear Bra I had installed.

It's on the bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, headlights and fog lights.
It cost me $800 to have it installed. $750 + tax.

So here's the pictures already:

see it yet?

?

it's there, look closer:

anything yet?

still no?

I'll make the lines real clear for you:

I did my best to make it stand out in the light so you can see the seam.
If someone doesn't know it's on there, they usually can't notice it. It's crystal clear,
no fogging, clouding, yellowing or any of that yet.
It comes with a 5 year warranty.

Hope it protects the paint well.
So for those of you that wanted to see one installed, there it is.

I have never acutely had a clear bra on my vehicle, or vehicles but it looks great, barely even visible – the way it should be! Now you won’t be scared to floor it on the highway,

btw your drop is such a tease I am going to get mine dropped hopefully this week?

Any other major modification's planed, you move quick

I NEED NEW RIMS!!

(yes, I'm yelling.)

the bottom chrome piece came off of ebay.
it was pretty cheap and real easy to just stick on.
it was an experiment, but I kinda like it.

good investment, a clear bra was the first thing I did right after getting the keys to my CGP. Within minutes, I dropped it off to get tinted and a clear bra.

When are you going to put up your new rims?

I have to buy them first, then have them shipped, and so on.
I'm getting ready for them now. I bought the hubcentric rings, the carrying
cases for the old ones, the tires, new TPMS sensors, a camber kit (will probably need it),
and whatever is needed besides the rims and lugs.

My car is paid off, but my house is not. So the wife wants me to pay some on the
house before I get the rims. I guess I'm just waiting for the go ahead. I don't need
to hear her nag forever about me modding the car... so it's on a small break.
Just little stuff right now.

I anticipate it'll be about 2 weeks or so when I order the rims.
So May is looking good.

How did you paint the intake manifold cover? Im actually ordering the Password JDM Carbon Fiber Cover sometime this week. What hood dampers are those? the Tein or the other one from ebay? Was it hard on the install?

Anyways, nice looking car , wished i did the clear bra when i got the car

may want to search on the ingalls stiffy. it's well-documented in the performance mods section that there are some fitment issues if you have aftermarket pulleys, or just plain denting your hood liner, etc...

i wish i got the clear bra when i got my car. then again, i would've had to clear bra my euro-r lip kit too.

Smoked tail lights? They look darker than mine (I had to run outside and look at my tail lights from the side after I saw that first picture =p)

I didn't paint the manifold cover.
It comes like that from the factory. Not on the TSX, but on the Element.

I too will be getting the Password JDM Dry Carbon Manifold Cover.

Hood Dampers. Tein? No, they don't make them for the TSX. Ebay? No.
Too important of a thing to get from ebay for me.

The hood dampers are from Redline Tuning. It's the QuickLift Elite kit:
http://www.redlinetuning.com/QL-ACURA_TSX.html

They weren't very hard to install at all. The directions are superb!
Redline Tuning is a good company, quality people there.

I will do that. Maybe I'll just get an NRG innovations one and have some custom
brackets machined for it. Or maybe I'll skip the engine damper... not too sure yet.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Yes.

I know, I know, don't bother about the Type-S badge...

Tinted tails, via BlueBatmobile vinyl. Tint rating is 6/10.
I had a professional tinter put the vinyl on the tails, I couldn't hack it.
I had to buy two sets from Blue Bat, I screwed up the first one...

Wow, your car is coming along sooo nicely. These are the best pics yet (other than the demon eyes demonstration).

I'm so thankful my car already had the 3M treatment on the hood and door handles when I purchased it. I think it's a necessity pretty much. Knowing how much that stuff can cost makes me even more thankful!

Great ride M!

it seems to vary quite a bit.
I got the extended version where it goes up the hood and such twice as far.
The headlights and fog lights were not part of the kit, that film had to be
purchased separately.

I've heard from $550 to $1000 to get it done.

Here's a list of certified 3M Clear Bra installers by state:

http://forums.jdmcentral.net/archiv....php/t-795.html
Alabama through Nebraska

http://forums.jdmcentral.net/archiv.../t-795-p-2.html
Nevada through Wyoming

So look up your state and call all local certified installers.
Compare their prices.

does the clearbra for the bumper cover the entire surface area? Or is it cut for the majority of the bumper.

I'd prefer to have the clearbra wrap around edges, although the cost would certainly go up.

Looks good! particularly invisible

the clear bra protects everything that faces forward.
so the entire front of the bumper.
it's a whole bunch of different pieces precisely cut to fit.
it doesn't cover the horizontal surfaces, just the ones that face the road.

and yes, this car is certainly dropped.
I just changed it's coilovers today though.

first opinion of the CSTs: very nice. very smooth, nice indeed.

Just thought I'd mention to you this isn't possible.
Password JDM doesn't make a Dry Carbon Manifold Cover for the K24 TSX.
The one they have now is for 06+ Civics.
I have that one sitting in my living room... it doesn't fit.

Password JDM will be making a manifold cover for our TSX in dry carbon soon.
I'll be the first to have one when they make them, and that should be in about
a month they said.

That looks great but damn $800 is a lot, hell I could have my whole front end repainted twice for that.
