you have HID in your house that picture looks like its on the carpet

I dont know I would have to see them outside and I kinda like white or blue better. Also how much do they cost.

I don't know about LA but in Toronto, yellow headlights aren't illegal. But I agree with you, I saw someone here with yellow OEM foglights and it looks pretty nice.

that's not going to illuminate street signs as well as white light. also, that won't appear as bright as white light, but it will shine further down the road.

definitely save those for fog light retrofits.

I dunno, I sorta like 'em. Reminiscent of the GT cars in American LeMans. If you did get this and you have foglights, the fl's better not be white... that would look weird...

Eh....... I'd guess I'd give a but you would probably decrease the "bling factor" of purple HID's. Personally though, who cares what others think if you like 'em. I'd like to see what they look like in the TSX housing and not just on some carpet...

I don't like them. The most prominent spectra of ionized mercury vapor/halide, which is what all HID bulbs for cars use, falls at or above 4000K, which is white, blue, purple, to UV. The reason those are yellow is because of the shield around them, visible in the third picture. I'm willing to bet that there is a 4300K white HID lamp inside that fixture and only the yellow light is being allowed to escape. Aside from the fact that yellow light is inferior to white/blue light for driving, as others have noted already, the yellow filter is also going to block a significant amount of the bulb's light output - the bluer end of the spectrum.

HID lamps are inherently poor choices for the "warmer" (red, orange, yellow) color temperatures because their natural emission spectra falls toward the "colder" side of the color white (aqua, blue, purple). I would be leery of shelling out $200+ for some lamps that reduce my night time visibility.

For fogs, in which case you want the warmer colors because they reduce glare and refraction, yellow is perfect.

yellow hid for fog will be nice but not for a regular low beam. i replaced my stock hid bulb with PIAA Super Cobalt HID Replacement bulbs and they look really nice. somewhat it was waste of money replacing the bulbs just to get different color temperature but price and bling factor was hard to resist. PIAA retails them for $473 and $250 sounded so cheap compared to PIAA's retail price. Also @ 6600k they produce slight purple hue and I think they look

Heh, you aren't alone. I got a set of Xetronic (Sylvania) 8000K deep blue HID bulbs for my low beams. I also have an 8000K HID upgrade kit for the H11 fog light bulbs, which I've yet to install. Deep blue HID goes awesome with my ABP paint.
