Ok so I went and bought some of that stuff that slats posted a link to the DIY just to see what it would look like.

So here are some pics.

Chrome:

Blacked Out:

I will take some better pictures tomorrow in the daylight. If you are going to do this you will need two roles to do the car. I found out the hard way and have one side black and one side chrome right now. So my car is going to have to look weird for a day.

hmmm...don't know? I think if the windows were tinted it would look better black. But better chrome without the windows tinted. I gotta see the daytime pics. Did you think about blacking out the door handles also?

If he's going for the JDM bling, the door handles need more chrome, not less.

It was fairly easy to put on I had to redo two of the four strips though cause if you cut to fast and go off line just the smallest bit then you see the chrome.

thats why i havent bought another role to do the other side yet cause I don’t know if I like it. But if done right unless someone told you it was tape you wouldn’t even know cause when it is flat and smooth it looks and feels like it belongs there.

But I am leaning towards taking it off it was a trial to see what it looked like and make me want the jdm trim more now.

Well, I guess he has me to blame if it doesn't turn out good, but I though it was a cool idea. I love cheap DIY mods.

I think I agree that it would look better with tint. The guy with the link I gave you has a 03 Accord, graphite pearl, and tint and it looks awesome.

Also, I wouldn't try the tape on the door handles since you touch them all the time.
