What is a good way to tell if you need your break pads changed? My brakes are not as good as they were when I first got the car, but it still stops I guess. What pads would you guys recommend on a 04 TSX? I'm still on the OEM pads. I am coming up to 28K miles soon. Thanks.

 

Usually squealling is a good indicator.

I just actually bought a set of Hawk HPS pads.

 

i was wondering why mybrakes sqeak at the first 1-2 mins.... it's because my brake pad is used up?

 

Mine squeek on cold mornings before they are properly warmed up.

 

^ ya. That's exactly what's happening....so is it because my brake pad is almost gone, or because they need to warm up?

 

Warmed up or not, they should never squeak. Might have something stuck between the pad or the rotor. Blast water or brake cleaner in there. If it dosent work then its probably time to change the pads.
