What would be my next performance modification?

I'd get lighter 17 inch rims–but for that money I could do some coil-overs, or pulley up-grade; what's everybodys take? I want performance over eye-candy. I have some nice pedals from SC, and CT short-shifter planned for the coming weekend. Did the Ingalls 'Stiffy' saga work out for you guys?

Since you already have most of the bolt-on mods, I'd say pulleys next. Perhaps lightweight wheels and tires down the road. If you feel the itch for more, then lightweight flywheel and clutch should keep you happy for awhile.

Pulleys. The money you use on pulleys is a bit less than what you would spend on good lightweight rims and tires.

I thought pulleys, too. I'm open to a good make–and, I'll look for a diy.

I skipped pulleys and went for the exedy lightweight flywheel. Very big improvement in 1st and 2nd gear from idle to about 5000rpm. Worth doing when it is time to replace your clutch.

i know, this isnt really my business but is there really a point in putting so much money into a car that you wont really get over 250 hp? i know you must love your car but is it really worth the money? i know its off topic but some times i think of doin all these hp mods but then i realize that at the end of the day the tsx will never be fast...

I'd would spend my money on the suspension. Since handling is the area where the TSX really shines

^^ I'm in NJ, gotta be the most populated state around; more than half the time I don't get out of 4th. A balance of handling, torque, a dash of style–with a side order of speed; is what I'm trying to be about. Hey, I've got, in 42 years of driving, 1 ticket, and that was in a 1980 deisel VW wagon.

What about front SB/stiffener? Any opinion(s) on adding that feature?

be sure to get the shifter base bushings for ur short shifter! since ur already going to have the console off.

hmm about the swaybar.. well to be honest u will notice a dif with a stock suspension. once u get an aftermarket suspension the difference will be hard to notice...

stiffener? like ingalls etd? those are prettty nice =) i like mine... when you shift while WOT you'll feel the car pull you more.. lol less lag time

Ah! Thanks, V3. The speed-source.net 'Honda' sets? Or other place you purchased?

I'd trust your initial instinct and go for the lighter rims.

Obviously there are other mods that may address one of the above points better than lighter rims, but I don't think there are many that address all of the points.

Yeah, I haven't nixed it completely. I just think upgrading the pulleys, shifter bushings, a "Stiffy" and, throttle spacer–all combined would keep me happy-er, than just buying $2,000 Gram rims and treads.

It rained yesterday morning to—beat the band. I didn't run thru any deep, standing water, but my butt-cheeks did tense up some. So, I might just replace my K&N CAI with a CT-icebox.

Installed the CT-short shifter. Nice mod. Short & sweet. Couldn't wait for the metal bushings.

Installed this last night in my 05. I thought the install was a bitch. Easy to take the center console and stuff out, but taking the metal shift bracket out was hard as hell. Also, didnt have a bench to take the plastic ball off of the stock shifter so I had to go to a shop

Love the feel though --- I tested it out with an ARC titanium "ball look" shift knob and it was amazing. The stock shift knob does not do this mod justice. It was sad when i had to switch back to the stock knob this morning (the ARC is my cousin's).

Your car will handle worse with a thicker front sway bar. It adds understeer. Same as the strut tower bar

I take it the ARC is heavier. My plastic cup went flying across my garage. I didn't get the tool included in some CT-SS kits-but I was able to pop it off. Yeah, that bracket was pain. A couple of big, flat head screwdrivers used to pry from the from and a small, 'computer size' from behind did the trick

Thanks, TS–What about that 'Stiffy' made by Engalls. Did they ever fix the bracket (height) in the initial release? Members here were having a rubbing issue with the hood liner. Some vibration, too transferred from the mount(?)

Never heard anything about it. The vibrations found are just inherent in the design. You would get that with any other ETD. I believe JTso has/sells? a custom one that he makes. Shoot him a PM and see if he can make you one.

Front strut bar is fine. It improves steering response.
Front sway bar on the other hand improves steering response by a lot, but increases understeer. So you need to size your rear sway bar accordingly to reduce that understeer.

The ETD doesn't really make the inside of your car vibrate a lot if you have the a/c off. With the a/c on everything vibrates, it takes some getting used to. As for the hood liner, the ingalls for sure I know will rub the hood liner and might need to be trimmed to fit pulleys if you decide to get those.

It seems I'm delivering too much power to my 2 amps–to make the UR pulleys work.

You should check out www.mavenmotorsports.com for a real weighted shift knob.

Installed the neuspeed strut bar. Unfortunately, the torque wrench I borrowed, starts at 36 ft lbs., and there is little clearance to access the 3rd middle nut for the strut. Took some curves I take on every day, and, the tsx was more than willing. The car just seemed to flatten-out the curve. Which is very good. A few cloverleafs should be a good test; I routinely take them on at @ 45mph.

Hmm how does the flywheel and clutch work on an AT? Cause I'm comparing that with UR pulleys since I don't plan on getting upgrade on sound.
