what mods should i get?

ok so im planning ahead, haven't got my '06 yet

first this will be the first car i mod, so im clueless about what to add and the best brands to get.

im not really into those loud exhausts systems so i'd like to add mods that won't increase exhaust sound too much. i also don't want to add drastic things that will viod warranty (things that can be removed fairly easy are preferred in case i need maintenance/repairs).

i am getting a-spec so suspension i dont think i'll need to mod that. no limit on $$ so what should i add? i'm mostly looking to add performance gain mods.

thanx.

i would go with the injen. it has much better gains and also you can switch between cold air intake and short ram with it

ya, Injen adds the best bang for the buck if you talk performance wise, otherwise, nothing.... since you don't want anymore loud noise, because exhaust and header will add noise (as well as intake, but only at high rpm)

nothing appearance wise??.... get some new shows for the car, since $$$ is not a factor, get some crazy bling!

Well it depends how much money you are looking to spend right away. I can go down and give you an entire list of mods if you only have like 250 to begin with I would recommend going with the injen intake.

Rear sway bar is a good choice. I've got that and an intake going on within the next week along with wheels and tires.

I would however it in this order and add something.

Remember he said he wants to change the exhaust note basically so that is what need to be done first intake exhaust with a litte handling.

1. Injen intake. 220
2. Progress Rear Sway 150
3. DC Sport Header and Random Tech CAT. both about 320
4. Greddy Exhaust. 700
5. Tanabe Coilovers cause they are little less than the TEIN Flex although I prefer the flex myself.
6. set of wheel and tires preferebly volk cause they are hot or maybe some mugen wheels.
7. Stereo

A quick total of just the engine mods and rear sway comes out at 1710.

Add in suspension you should be around 2500. leaving you with 2500 for wheels or a stereo. you could add sub and amp for 500 and then spend 2k on wheels and tires but it wont buy you volks.

I mean this could go in any order but you said you wanted to get the exhaust note low so that is what I worked on with the first 4 mods.

k, so i should add the front strut bar as well? what brand?

im not trying to save a dollar so i rather put top-of-line parts.

now i just have to find a reputable local shop to do all this for me.. i rather let a pro install everything.

i was sort of thinking of leaving the stock stereo because thats probably tied into the Navi? i would think an aftermarket radio will not work with the Navi/wheel controls, but i will get some subs/amps - shouldn't be too bad, maybe some rockford fostages.

thanx.

Front strut bar I would go with the Cusco Front strut bar. If you want top of the line then go with the TEIN Flex coilovers and get the edfc for it too.

If you want ALL out..... get some VERY RARE JDM parts......

LIke.... FEELS...... FEELS exhaust, body kit, struct bar.... and grab everything they have....

or..... you get just MUGENize your car...... get all teh Mugen parts avaliable.... then add in a few other non-Mugen goodies like sway and front struct.... and you are set~

of course..... VOLKS rims all the way~

Intakes

I have had long discussions with the guys at AEM concering short and long cold air intakes, they stand by their claims that the short intake makes more HP, if it didnt they would make a long cold air version they said. They tested theirs and "other" manufacturers and say their short intake makes the same or more HP than any of the others.

They post this on their web site:

SRS Only Application
AEM spends extensive time developing each air induction system for maximum performance. Whenever possible, we design a Cold Air system that routes the filter outside of the engine compartment to take advantage of cooler ambient air temperatures, and offer a Short Ram system as an economical alternative to our Cold Air system.

However, tuning the inlet pipe is crucial to performance, and certain applications respond to runner lengths that will not allow us to create a true cold air system. In these cases, AEM manufactures a Short Ram system only, as this design creates the most useable power for a given application.

So what makes anyone think that the Injen CA Intake works any better? Does anyone have any proof?

Comptech rear sway bar
Comptech Icebox intake
Comptech header

I mention these because some Acura dealers sell Comptech products and install them. This should give you some peace of mind when it comes to voiding the warranty.

Also, set aside $600 for when Hondata comes out with the reflash for the 06.

i think i'm going to get the mugen air intake, comptech rear sway and cusco front strut bar (the cusco looks better than the comptech, imo).
