What does Honda recommend or say what grade oil should be used for the TSX?

RTM or even easier - open your hood and look on the oil filler cap!

5W-30 on cap, but the dealer say 5W-20. 5w20 was for better mpg, but i will use 5w30.

If that engine has been sitting around for long without an oil cap the kind of oil to put in it might not be your only worry.

So is this Civic going end up like the typical riced out, lowered ghetto car or are you aiming for a more elegant look of the car from which it's heart came from?

OUCH you hit me hard...

Mandrel bent exhaust w/titainium muffler w/3inch magna flow resonator, TEIN coilovers 700-600lbs springs, a C-West Carbon fiber GT wing, Aftermarket headlights and retro fitted BI-Xenon projectors, Enkei ZR2 17's 18lb. and brembo brakes for the future. And don't forget the BMW White and red style tailights I'm getting in the future.

Thats what I have in mind.

Also, what do you mean by "I've already taken the engine apart already its fine, everything is being replaced by aftermarket parts." What parts have you replaced?

I dont have a camera (sorry), but I bought an a1 motor 3 months ago and I've taken it apart basically everything, ask me anything about it. I will be glad to let you know.

I called crower for a billet crank and custom rods. I'm also talking to JE pistion about producing custom 9.0:1 coated pistons. I've emailed Darton about there closed deck sleeves and they will be the first ones to let me know when there done with the k24 sleeve. Everthing else is interchangable with the RSX-S. Clutch, Pullies, water pump, oil pump etc. All OEM seals being replaced.... I will get a high definition camera from sony soon.

Interesting. I always wonder about engine swaps: Do you still call your k24'ed Civic a "Civic"? Like the guys who did the b18 swaps. Do they say "My Civic does a XX.XX in the quarter"? Or do they say "My Integra...."?

This is the stuff that keeps me awake at night....

You'll have to post some pics when you're getting closer to completion. Even if some folks do not like the end product you'll take comfort that at the heart of it beats a former TSX engine.

this hybrid swap has been done before link

It wasn't using a TSX specific engine, it was just the 2.4 CRV block w/ RSXS head, which is all our engine really is anyways.

Good luck though.

There dimensionally the same block, and the 94 coupe are not 100% bolt on like the 02-04 SI's you have to cut one of the frame mounts off and have the wiring harness redone.
