Couple questions:

First off, will dealerships or other vendors install UR Pulleys for you (for a price obviously)??? I know people say its easy....I've even read through the DIY with pictures and all, but I'm really afraid I'm gonna do one thing wrong and 'f' up my car.

Secondly, I see this all the time, and I feel like a noob for asking, but what's the JDM acronym stand for???

UR pulleys aren't hard if you have the tools, I payed a shop 1hr and half labor for it.

Japanese-Domestic-Market Don't worry about it, everyone was/is a noob at one point in time...it's best to learn than stay ignorant.

SC (along with I/H/E/C) will get you very close to, if not slightly over, 250whp on an 04/05. On an 06, it'll put you above it.

With a few more tweaks to your SC setup (hello Big Ben!) you can get an 04/05 to 275whp/215tq...

It should have said SC + I/H/E/C or I/H/E/C+Hondata+Acurazine sticker

that should do it.

To get to 250 whp, you're gonna need to get a different car or be prepared to live without a lot of features in your car...

But that's not true unless I'm being retarded? I/H/C/E + Supercharger will put you either right at it or over it depending on your model year, and the highboost pulley will take you even further. Sure it's not CHEAP, but 250whp is by no means unattainable on the TSX. If someone said 300whp then yes you're probably screwed...

But is it worth sacrificing the reliability? The supercharger adds about 40whp. Base TSX 6MT from 2006 dynos as about 183 whp. That's 225 whp. Do the other mods really make up 25 whp? Exhaust will add a few, intake will add a few, and the header will add a few, but I don't think that quite adds up to 25 whp. You could go the full Hytech route also which would get you there, but to do that, you pretty much sacrifice most of the electronics in the car for raw performance.

For the cost of parts, installation, and the guaranteed loss of drivetrain warranty, not to mention quite a few other warranties, you could get a different car that would easily make that kind of power.

Anything is possible, but let's be realistic about the consequences as well.

I think your numbers are a little off. I believe most stock 06 6MTs dyno closer to 175-180whp, and Comptech claims that the S/C adds about 50whp. A I/H/C/E combo will add AT LEAST 20whp.

My car hits 250whp (and about 260whp in sub-50 degree weather)...and here's my dyno as proof:

As far as reliability is concerned, I'm not worried. I only have just under 19k miles on my car (most likely the fewest of any S/Ced TSX) and I have little doubt that my car will last well over 100k. Yes, the lack of a warranty on some areas is a concern but the way I look at it, the K24 has proven to be more or less bulletproof so any issues covered by the warranty would probably not be engine-related anyway. Consequently, the addition of a S/C or other engine mods would be irrelevant.

Are those dyno graphs SAE corrected?

STD corrected (see top right corner of graphs), which is about the same as SAE correction.

I also have an uncorrected graph here (where I hit 260whp):

^^ Yeah, that sounds about right. The very first 04 Manual TSX dynoed about 244 whp with just intake and header. Given the power upgrade and the better breathing in an 06, I think you should definitely be able to get over 250 whp.

Or add an RT cat + a catback in an 04 6MT. I'm hoping to break 250whp in my first dyno when I go Supercharged.

Not that it doesn't matter you have better handling...better interior...better styling...all around better car than an SI right now in your TSX.
why the GTO lol i still have mine its now getting a new shortblock...uhh is it possible for him to get the rsx type s head and more agressive cams???and make some nice power???or is it the tunning that is holding us back?

Nitrous DO NOT consider as solid horsepower, the internal is not ready either due to the high-compression nature of TSX. So, you can risk to blow up your engine w/ NOS while going faster, but you can't really claim those horsepower because it's not on tap.

You usually need to retard timing with Nitrous and we don't have any way to do that at the moment. You could probably run a small shot of NOS but it can be risky. Tsxondubs ran a small shot before and he said it made quite a difference. This was a couple of years ago when he was running it though.

My god learn to spell (your age indicates you should already know how), and put together sentances or use any sort of grammar at all. Reading your posts makes my eyes hurt and I cant understand a thing you are saying.

He has an AT, so can't compare to a MT.

Oh yeah, and it's "sentences"! But yeah, I get your point.

Maybe you should done that in first place.

btw, do you even know anything about turbo? Do some research before running your mouth. I hate when people talking what they are going to do w/ their ride, but never does anything.

For a decent setup (like Active Autowerke or ESS), I think it'll run closer to 10k to go FI (turbo or S/C) just for the parts alone...

It seems that 1&2 gear is pretty much a dog but after u hit 3rd it moves pretty good. Whats the basic simple bolt on parts that i can upgrade the horse power, i'm not looking to do any engine work just yet. Any help would b great!

If I decide to take the plunge and supercharge it someday, it will be respectably quick. But in the mean time I'm content with the fact that I have a great looking fantastic handling car with a lot of creature comforts which is reliable and gets decent gas mileage. I love my car for those features and plan to hang on to it for some time. In the future, when I have more money, I'll own a second car for my "fast" fixings.
I could not agree with this post more. In my opinion if there are people who baught the TSX for performance and speed, they didn't do any research. Now, this car does have a lot more power potential then people think but the luxury and styling is the focus of the vehicle. It is a very classy car. For speed junkies a Cobalt SS, SRT-4, WRX etc. would be the cars you should have baught if you wanted to dump pay cheques into upgrading. YES they are "low-end" compared to a TSX but any one of these cars will spank a TSX four ways from sunday in a straight line and probably in a sprint. You wouldn't buy a smart car to tow a boat, why would you buy a classy sport sedan to drag race? .. just my opinion
