LOL, the "illistration" is so funny.... Velocity stack in a pod filter isn't going to do jack.

Thanks for that useful nugget of information - care to expand further to show why this is the case?

I would ponder that aaronng thinks it (the illustration) looks like a "black hole"

black hole images.....

Because it's inside the pod and not on the exterior that is exposed to air flowing into the velocity stack. Velocity stacks are great when air is flowing in the direction of the velocity stack. In the pod, the majority of the air is coming from a perpendicular direction and then pulled into the intake pipe which is at 90 degrees. Stack or no stack, it won't make much of a difference. When you see why a velocity stack is beneficial, then you know why it's silly to put it into the pod. Putting it at the entry to their "ram air hose" would be more beneficial.

I suspect they may be incorrectly using velocity stack to explain RAM air effect.
There's no mention here of it being so - only talk of venturi and Boyles law.
There doesn't seem to be anything in the images I can see that looks remotely like the Bell mouth imagery shown in wikepdia's explanation of what a VS is.
All that aside, I can't see a company like WR having become so well known by trading in snake oil.

Do a search, there are tons of intake solutions for the TSX that compliment the engine.

oh i understand that, but i think big companies like aem and injen are the perfect intersection of price and performance. you may spend a lot more for something mugen or comptech, but if the OP was looking at the weapon R stuff i would guess he isnt looking to spend the big bucks.

At almost $200, the WeaponR is not cheap. He can get a Comptech for that price.

Me personally, I am waiting for the Weapon R 2.5 to roll out. When it does, that K&N is so history.

honestly; an intake is an intake! An aluminum tube with a filter on the end. They all do the same thing by allowing a higher intake charge than stock. I.E. sucking in more air more freely. The weapon R just uses "ram air" and "velocity stack" as a marketing ploy. Doesn't ram air and velocity stack sound alot better than aluminum tube? lol In fact I have seen some pretty good dyno results with PVC pipe used, in fact close to what injen and aem claim as gains. So, I'll add this: I have an Injen SP1431 and here is why I bought it over AEM, K&N, and Weapon R; it was black and looked good, has a nice sound, and converted to short ram.

All intakes will barely add more power than a weed whacker and are only worth it in conjunction with headers, exhaust, reflash, and whatever other goodies you want to bolt on. If you want to buy it then DO IT!!! it sounds bad ass and looks good under the hood, but don't listen to everyone telling you one "performs" better than another, that's just super street talk lol. So go ahead everyone chew me out! I know the truth hurts. I am sure someone will post some dyno chart in a retaliation effort. But look at the numbers I bet you wont see a tangible difference! Just me .02
