Ultimate pedals

Just got done installing a set of Ultimate pedals. The fitment is excellent and contours to the stock pedals perfectly. They also have new pedals that look like the JDM ones. I got the shiny non-slip set. They come with stainless mounting hardware.

Nice. I like the dead pedal better than the JDM.

The prices vary depending on the finish and type of pedals. Each pedal is sold separately except the brake and clutch. My set is $186 + shipping.

Hey, while you're online, and sorry for a partial tread detour, have you heard of any problems with the Racingbrake screw holes not lining up? I've got a set in the trunk and I don't want to have any installation surprises. I thought I'd tap your knowledge bank for a little input.
-Thanks

Have you driven with them when your shoes were wet from rain yet? I'm curious as to how they grip when wet.

looks good. I might have to buy an ultimate pedals dead pedal with rubber inserts since the jdm one doesnt fit right.

The pedals provide very good grip with wet tennis shoes but I haven't tried with smooth bottom dress shoes. Here are some observations from the pedals and clutch height adjustment during the install.

1. Lowering the clutch pedal height shortens the stroke and the clutch engages sooner when releasing the pedal. This feel really good.

2. The clutch and brake pedals replace the stock rubber pads so the overall size and height are unchanged.

3. The gas pedal goes over the existing pedal and it's slightly wider. The additional thickness and width effectively moves the pedal higher and closer to the brake pedal. The slightly increase height and width makes heel-toe a little easier.

I got them from http://www.ultimatepedals.com . They require some drilling to install. The gas and dead pedals are very easy to drill (plastic) but the clutch and brake pedals require some more attention. The first hole is the most important. I started with the bottom center hole first.

I was concern about slipping so I got the non-slip.

Is the accelerator on top of the OEM one or replaced it?

After doing the install of the JDM pedals this weekend (minus the dead pedal), I actually like the looks alot, but it was a 2 person job to drill the brake and clutch.

The accelerator wasn't bad once we got it out, but that proved to be more challenging that we expected. CKCentral should be posting some pics I think.

The accelerator pedal goes on top of the stock pedal. I was going to remove the complete stock assembly but it wasn't necessary. The key to install the clutch and brake pedals is a good center punch to mark the drill mark. After that, you just need a small drill with sharp drill bits. I made sure the pedals were center by using clamps for the positioning.

I could get a good mark mark with my metal punch, but my 18v Dewalt required the pedals to be at full compression (brake and clutch that is) in order to drill. A center punch would've helped making the starting hole for sure.

Can you please elaborate point no.1? Is this something you can adjust easily, or do you have to remove the clutch assembly? I too found the stock clutch throw somewhat long.

Just chiming in to say I've had the Ultimate Pedals on for a couple years now and couldn't imagine driving the car without them. They aren't just for looks, they definitely grip your feet much better

Yes, the pedal height can be easily adjusted by loosening the locknut and turn the adjuster push-rod. If you look under the dash and follow the pedal, you will see where it meets with the adjuster. Another method is to remove the cotter pin and attachment pin on the adjuster bracket. Then just turn the bracket clockwise to lower the pedal height. reverse the procedures to reinstall. Once the pedal height is adjusted, you also need to adjust the clutch switch actuation point. You basically loosen the clutch switch lock nut and turn the switch until it makes full contact with the pedal. Then tighten the switch locknut when done.
