TWM Performance Shift Knobs
TWM Performance Shift Knobs
Does anybody have any experience with TWM Performance weighted shift knobs? I've always wanted a weighted shift knob but I wanted a completely round ball-type knob, unlike the Skunk2. The weight on this knob is 460g and it looks like it may even screw in deeper into the knob, making it lower on the lever.

They also have some other really cool knobs, including one thats 600g! I was just wondering if anybody has one or has seen one in person. I just emailed them a copy of my student id because apparently they give 10% off to students

I think the M6 Leopard would be a better suited option unless you've the short shift kit from Comptech or Mugen/Spoon installed.
The round knob works well for the S2000, but that has a very short lever section protruding above the console area.
I'd be a bit concerned about 600g weight though - and something I read on an ebay trader's auction has me thinking about heavy knobs period.
Let me see if I can find it.
Found it - MonsterKnobs (sounds like a porno site!)
From the FAQs -
"I Want A Heavy Shift Knob. How Heavy Are Yours?
Our knobs weigh approximately 105 to 112 grams ... or about 1/4 pound (4 oz.) as noted. They are a little heavier than many factory knobs, but are not designed or marketed as a heavy aftermarket knob. We do not agree with the current fad of having extremely heavy shift knobs that weigh a pound or more. We feel these are potentially dangerous and bad for transmissions, and we WILL NOT sell knobs this heavy. Extremely heavy knobs can possibly close the gap between the shifter rail and the gears, causing damage to the gears in much the same way as the bad habit some drivers have of resting their hands on the shift knobs constantly. When the gap closes, the transmission fluid can no longer lubricate these parts. Really heavy knobs also run the risk of bending shift forks by creating too much leverage when shifted agressively. Lastly, we feel that excessively heavy knobs can dampen out vibrations so well due to their mass, that the driver receives little useful information from the transmission. You can literally grind your gears to death and not even know it -- until it's too late."

I've never thought that or the T1R's looked in any way, shape, or form appropriate for the TSX interior.
Strip it out and liberal does of CF/Kevlar, and that'd be right at home, but for the average car interior - no way hose A.
