Toda TSX Engine Kit News

I emailed the guys at toda about an engine kit for the tsx and here is what they had to say.

Hello Tuan,

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in TODA Racing. We're in the
process
of developing an Engine Kit for the TSX, but this product will not be
available until mid to late 2005. Please check back with us in a few
months
for an update.

Interesting news, I wonder if I should hold of with the hondata, and wait for this.

Check the other thread...looks like hondata has a GOOD CHANCE of putting out a KPRO but may take a year and a ahlf. But be patient. It is worth the wait.

well - i guess i want to know how effective toda cams will be with hondata.

i forgot to call ips to see if they are really decolping cams for the tsx - and also if hondata plans to release an upgraded reflash for this.

if so, would i (or any other hondata owner) get it for the difference in price, if any?

Not that Dzuy would give bad info, but you might wanna ask JTso. That guy knows more about engines and peformance.

Toda makes some crazy shizzle for the DC5. Can't wait to see what they come up with for the TSX.

No sense in waiting on Hondata if you think they might come out with K-pro. It doesn't cost that much to upgrade it

In addition, Doug has said that the K-Pro is a long way away. It took about 18 months to release the K-Pro for the RSX after the reflashes were out.

i never changed cams.

i know cams can DRASTICALLY alter performance as well as driveability.

street cams (usually offered as a stage 1 or in toda's case - stage a) pretty much keeps the engine the same except for the high end - you cant really hear or see the engine idle being off

more aggressive cams make your car idle a hell of alot rougher - i remember my friend in his eclipse turbo - after he got some aggressive cams - his car sounded like a helicopter - at idle - his car shook the windows of my house.

i have to do more research on cams - but i know toda makes bad ass cams for the rsx. i'm sure they will follow suit for the tsx.

I can't wait to see what they will come up with, but anyways, it will be $$$$..... As their header is retailing for 120000YEN.

I've just got news from TODA..

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in TODA Racing. We will soon be testing some camshafts in the TSX engine. Please check back with us in May for more updated information. Please note that these camshafts will only be compatible with the TSX engine (not the standard Accord 2.4 liter).

there should be no modification necessary to install headers onto your car...

1. take your old headers off the car
2. install Toda or any other manufacturer's headers

Back in 2004 I emailed TODA as well, they told me they would most likely have a kit similar to the RSX in 12-'05. Obviously the release date got pushed back.

I talked to Kevin@Epic Motoring and he said they're working with Hondata and Toda so there will definately be a kit or what not. He said he call me up as soon as it's available and I'll post it when the time comes...

For how much?
Maybe we can work something out, after Tanabe's R&D...

So $1,100+ for cams... (plus God knows how much for ECU tuning)

and

$1,100-$1,200 for a TODA header

But not $3650 for a S/C'er

dzuy's a strange fellow. He didn't even want to spend a few hundred to paint a scratched bumper.

Oh and just an FYI, Church's dyno has been known to read about 5% higher than a DynoDynamics (Comptech) or a Dynojet.

i'm more likely to buy just toda cams than buying both.

ecu tuning = hondata. got that covered. i'm sure hondata will release an updated reflash for a cheap price if it comes out.

3650 is still your estimate for the S/C. mine is still sitting at 5k w/ a SC w/ aftercooler.

actually i guess you could say i was more pissed than confused about whether i was goin to fix it.

it's a pain in my ass to have to shell out hundreds to fix something that i shouldn't have to spend any money on.

The only SC kit to cost that much w/ an aftercooler is the S2000 kit and that blower design is much more expensive to begin with. Don't see how $5k is a more accurate price estimate than my $3650 ($4450 w/aftercooler).
