Tips on the Removal of Front Bumper for CAI install
I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on removing my front bumper to install my CAI. I have seen threads about taking the LF wheel off and pulling back the wheel well cover, but it seemed like hard work taking the resonator out from that angle. Taking the bumper off would probably allow for easier access to all the air induction hardware. Any help or tips would be very much appreciated. Also, I have the OEM fog lights, will I have to detach the wiring harness before removing the whole bumper?
I would not recommend removing the bumper. I had a friend help me out, and we tried the wheel well first, it was too easy. I would say just take out the pins from around the well on the outside and two from inside, and the resonator box will slide out easier than you think! We thought about bumper removal at first, but playing with the bumper is a bigger deal than it would seem, especially if one of the pins broke. Then you would be driving around with a loose bumper.........just my .02
The trick to get the resonator out is to seperate and remove
the intake tube first. Just pry the intake tube backward, toward
back of car, to seperate it from resonator.
A 1/4 drive ratchet and socket got the front bolt, accesed
from the fog cover, no problem.
I am having alot of noise with my CAI. I am going back in
there to put dynamat on the inner fender.

I assume your asking if dynamat will make a difference.
I had a real big problem with noise until today I discovered
the tube was touching the intake manifold, inside of the
silicone hose.
So the mechanism was engine source resonanting the
metal of the intake pipe. That pipe is like a trumpet,
why not dampen it.
Dynamat should help on the inner fender where a bracket
bolts directly to the inner fender. I'll also wrap a strip
around the pipe, above the filter but below the inner fender.
I have the dynamat for a speaker install and it's no problem
to try.

I removed my bumper and it was very simple as well. I'm not sure who has said it is very difficult, but I've go some pics in my signature that shows what everything looks like. You can find details on how to take it off from Hondaworld.com on the installation instructions for foglights. It was all so simple.
I was talking to one of my friends the other day and he did the Injen install on his friend's TSX a while ago. He installed it through the wheel well. I pointed out to him why the vertical stock intake piping behind the high beam was still there, he said it wasn't possible to remove it. After looking at the link from [Lung Fu Mo Shi], it is called the "intake air duct."
[Lung Fu Mo Shi] states:
"In addition, I removed the extra piping showing. The "intake aur duct" (B) was removed after the resonator was out. I reached up inside the now open pipe hole and unscrewed that way as top access is very limited."
I was wondering if this was through the wheel well, or with the bumper removed?

I had the bumper off. Once the resonator is out I crawled a bit under the car and got at the screw from the engine side. It's a blind screw.

I just installed my Injen CAI this weekend. My driveway is complete crap because it's not level and it's covered in ice right now. I didn't think it was safe to put the car on a jack to go the fender method, so I took off the bumper instead. If you can wait a few days, I'll try to post a step by step with pictures in the next few days. One word of advice: if you don't already have an 8" extension, get one because it's absolutely critical in order to take the nuts off the old intake stuff.
