Tinting window's with a lease?

Well I just recently got a TSX and I love the car. I ended up getting a lease cause it was the better deal at the time. Anyways my question is can you tint the windows on a leased car. I know your not supposed to do anything major to the car because of the lease, however is tinting the windows not allowed. I mean it benefits the car. I wasn't really interested in modifying the car at this time but the tint is a most, I hate how everyone can see in so clear. If anyone has had this problem or in it please comment. I'd like your advise. I really want to tint those damn windows but I dont know if that is breaking my lease.

You should be fine with tinting your windows. I have leased several cars in the past, and it has never been an issue. The leases have been through American Honda Financial also.

tint

I don't think it matters.....but, why ask here? Just call your salesman. If it is a deduction, it would be minor.

As far as tint goes, just have them do it as dark as your local/state law allows. Just even it out.....some states allow a darker rear window than driver's / passengers front.

35% is pretty common I think....

You may already be aware of this, but when get them tinted if you did say 35% all the way around, the rear door windows are going to look a little darker then the front door windows. The reason being is that your back window will also have tint on it and your windshield typically would not have tint. Just a little FYI.

I do not lease my car, but it makes sense to me that if you tint a leased car you want to make sure the tint is legal in your state. Otherwise it might create something the dealer will have to take care of before they can sell it. If you are in CA they have pretty strict tint laws. I don't think they allow any tint on the front windows for example.

you can find the tint laws of each state by searching google, or any tint shop will tell you the tint shops in their state. 35% is the darkest it can be in kansas i think(at least on the front windows) but everyone i know that has tinted windows has them at 20% or darker. in my opinion 35% is not that dark and plan on getting 20% once it warms up here enough to do so, hopefully in 2 weeks itll be done, i also cant stand no tint on a car, it just looks horrible

in CA its illegal to have the fronts tinted, so you might want to watch for that. enforcement isn't crazy, but it might be something you'll have to deal with the dealer at the end of the your lease.
