throttle body spacer question

For any of you who have the 06+ si p2r throttle body spacer, what kind of sound does it make? I have heard from others that it makes a kind of annyoing whistling sound. Is this true? Or will the noise from the intake override this noise?

I have the 06 si spacer and gaskets and I haven't heard that. It didn't change the sound for me. But no whistling sound AT ALL. In fact no different sounds at all. It maybe got a little louder, but thats it.

i think a lot of the whistling noise was attributed to the nitrous plug not having a good seal, which is why some TL members used teflon tape on the plug itself.

i doubt there'd be any noise from the actual spacer/gaskets as they're flush on each other and the throttle body. i noticed that the TSX kit comes with four washers along with the bolts too, so that should help keep everything locked together.

i'm going to try and install mine on sunday along with a diy.

That's probably the culprit. I've had no noise issues at all, but I installed a brass plug instead of the plastic one.

Do you have an 04/05 TSX? I thought the 06si spacer only properly fit the 06+ TSX?

If you're an 04/05 and are running this without issues (and with any noticable gains) I may have to pick one up.

no, the 06+ have their own specific spacer/gaskets. i think the guys with 04/05's are using the civic si version b/c of fitment issues.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Put teflon on the plug. You can use the plug that came with it just use teflon.

I have an 05 and I'm using the 06 si spacer and gaskets. No issues at all. I can feel the gains in responsiveness. It also feels like it revs a bit faster, so torque might be up a tick. Its not tons of power though, but there definitely is a change for the positive.

I figure, 120 something bucks for a part that's easily installed/removed, and can be sold to a very receptive and very numerous population (SI owners) if it doesn't work or is detrimental to performance.

Its dyno proven in a car with less displacement, running the same throttle body. It's dyno proven in a larger engine (j-series). Its not difficult to take that leap of faith.

Besides, I've spent $120 on far worse.
