silent but deadly

Hey, I'm trying to hook my car up without disturbing the cabin with noise.
i have questions! (don't know much, but i'm willing to learn)

ice box or mugen intake sys?

do stainless headers make noise?

ive read a couple of forums and everyone argues about exhaust. what is the quietest catback with atleast minor performance gain.

isn't their a strut bar already installed, why change it?

if i grab eihbachs and sink an inch, will it take away a noticable amount of ride?

and what other mods can increase the handling?

Honestly, you will not have much luck increasing performance without increasing the interior noise level. However, the Comptech Ice Box and Mugen are probably the quietest of the bunch of air intakes when compared to the Injen or K&N CAI.

For almost zero noise increase:
Hondata Reflash and just about any Header available right now
TB Coolant By Pass Mod
Hondata Heatshield

For marginal noise increase:
Add Comptech Ice Box or Mugen Intake

For quite a bit more noise increase:
Any CAI
RT CAT

For most noise increase:
Any exhaust IMO

Yes, the car does come stock with an upper strut bar stock. You can add any of the after market ones available and get some sharper steering. Most people indicate no change or very little. It is not a night and day difference. I have the Neuspeed and noticed a small change.

Just adding a set of Eibach springs will stiffen you ride quality quite a bit IMO. I would lower with some springs and the Koni option or go for some quality Coil Overs Solution such as a setup from Tein. Either lowering solution will require a Camber Kit on the rear. You could always go with the Acura A-Spec setup as well.

Another great handling mod is to add a RSB. Most are adding Poly Bushings at the same time. From what I have read, there is no reason to change the front.

Hope that helps somewhat, and use the Search Feature. You will find a plethora of information.

I say get the Icebox, Comptech Headers, and if you're lucky enough to have an 04, the Hondata reflash.

That won't be much louder than stock. I have have both the Icebox and the Injen, and the Injen is quiet under 3500 rpms, but gets super loud during Vtec.

wow
you guys are so intimidating
forums are scarier than i thought

thanks for the help clifton
and 536

i did quite a bit searching and there is a lot of contradictions
i just wanted advice persoanlly so i would have someone to blame if i'm unhappy with the results.

as for the mugen vs the icebox....
i've also seen arguments of; which one gives more of a performance gain.

Welcome to the forum and don't worry about them. They just like to poke fun once in a while, as this is actually a fun forum.

Since most advices are not base on actual dyno test results, you have to make your own decision on the purchase. Additionally, I don't think anyone would like to get blamed if the advices given are not to your satisfaction.
