Shifting in SS mode

I have an auto, I just wanted to know is their something we can do about being able to down shift in SS mode whenever you want.
Right now i only could down shift if the rev is below a certain point. This sucks!

the SS logic will only let you downshift if the resulting lower-gear RPMs will fall below the redline.
