random technology stainless steel cat for tsx *pics inside*

first off, i would like to thank clay and dave at random technologies for making this happen.

this has been a process several months in the making, and i would like to say, i have my hands on a application specific high flow cat for the acura tsx.

i donated my stock cat to these guys so they can make one for us, and what a masterpiece it is. i just recieved it today in the mail.

the cat is made entirely of stainless steel - there is less honeycomb material than the magnaflow cat i temporarily bought from jtso.

the pipe looks longer - the resonator part smaller = more airflow for my tsx.

wont have time to install until maybe this weekend - will dyno again.

i'm dying to see how my car fares against the hondata tsx w/ just intake and header.

my current engine mods include:
comptech icebox
comptech stainless steel header
comptech cat back exhuast
hondata reflash
hondata intake manifold gasket

and now...random technologies high flow cat.

enjoy.

Nevermind, you've already posted it.

I would like to get a few of those flanges. Do you have a contact name and number?

Btw, what is the inside dia of the pipe?

i'm not sure, you can call random technologies and ask them.

this is the FIRST and ONLY high flow cat made specifically for the tsx though.

RandomTechnologies can add me to thier list when these are available. So far no listing of it on thier website. Dzuy I hope Clay keeps us informed about production dates and availability, How about proposing to Random Technologies to offer a group buy price to us forum members?

I agree. It won't happen though. How hard is this to put on and take off? Could just swap it all out when I go for an inspection??

Another thought...less resonator does not necessarily = better air flow. In some instances, the holes or dimples on the interior of the resonator work to increase or smooth out airflow. Crude example - a golf ball flows through the air better with dimples than without.

Was this cat's flanges based off of a non-OEM exhaust (both exhaust manifold and cat back exhaust) or the OEM one? Curious because I don't see how the OEM gaskets would work.

Nice work btw. I want this!!!!

Your new rear flange is an universal type. I'm trying to make flanges with the mounting holes tapped for studs just like OEM.

ultrarev.com sells that brand of cat. There is also an eBay seller titled "ultrarevcom" that sells them. I am not sure if the web site and eBay seller are one and the same though. Therefore, you can get some indication of price.

Looks good to me. I want one.

I was planning on doing Header, Intake, and Hondata at the same time in November. So this would just be icing .....

I might be able to talk to Random Technologies for you guys if I can get enough people interested and able to put down a deposit. Then I will set up an actual groupbuy.

Depends on price of course. I'm definitely interested, but hard to say yes to a deposit when I don't know the end cost. I could imagine this being up there with the Comptech headers in price or higher.

dzuy's list of things to do:
1. Dirve car to Dyno for baseline!
2. Pull car out to parking lot. Lift car with big strong muscles. Install CAT with free hand.
3. Drive car back on to Dyno for gain results
4. Go directly to nearest computer and upload results for Acurazine members.
5. Sleep well!
