quick cheap HP gains

The fastest HP gain I do to my cars is get the bosch platnuim 4 prung spark plugs. When I put them in my TSX I noticed a very good gain. The install is fast and easy (droped one of my screwes inbetween radiator and fans not fun) also another quick mod is the tornado. It is 70 bucks but I installed CAI and don't fit so I will have to end up selling it. (Only fits in stock air intake I think) hope this thread is helpfull to all.

Thanks for the helpful info. You just replaced the stock iridium plugs with some platinum plugs. Any dyno?

I'm pretty sure iridium are at least 2x better than platinums

Denso and NGK have both introduced new premium plugs with iridium alloy electrodes. NGK says iridium is even better than platinum in terms of corrosion, and resistance and ignition performance.

i hope you kept the iridium plugs, it's something like $50 for a set.

iridium is newer technology than platinums.

Sry I am a newb and don't know that color fonts ment that. The tornado for me though did help in my malibu and tsx. And for me the bosch platnum 4 prong spark plugs worked good for me in my 04 tsx and other cars.

Please go take your car to dyno before you claim any HP improvement. That 'tornado' is actually restricting air flow and reducing intake efficiency... not improving.

You say you bought a CAI and it wouldn't fit, why? Did you buy the wrong one? There are several on the market that are proven to work with all years of the TSX and provide real performance gains unlike spark plugs and air restrictors.

Use the search feature of this forum to gain insight into real performance mods, not BS from autozone or eBay.

And yes, they're saying you replaced iridium plugs with platinum plugs.

The reason the tornado did not fit is b/c the CAI was bigger and near the end of it there was a rubber part that made it go from larger to smaller. And the reason the spark plugs were better for me was because they are 4 prong and the tornando helped for me in my cars. But I am sry for this thread and hope u dont hate me now. I am still learning about this. Once again sry

There's nothing wrong with being enthusiastic and trying out new things, but sorry to hear you fell for the tornado product. Go for a full refund if the time limit still applies and look into other performance mods to increase your HP.

The best bang for the buck is Hondata- which can be found at www.hondata.com

Seriously, do some research around here to see what mods actually add power. There's an entire thread of dyno graphs with various modifications that you can use to judge how much power specific mods add.

We have some serious modders here who do their homework and know their stuff. You might learn a thing or two if you just did a little reading first.

And DONT buy that resistor on Ebay for like 20 bucks its crap. I don't think anyone here has fallen for it yet. So i hope your not the first.

i took my spark plugs out and got a few extra HP... anyone try it?

if you want to believe that you actually gained some HP by changing the spark plugs then do a dyno, even if it means driving 30 mins to a shop which has one, otherwise it's all in your head that the car feels faster.

You might be a newb, but it doesn't matter, everyone is trying to help.

As far as spark plug, I don't know if you did ANY research b4 buying it. Actually, if you did the search, in YAHOO/Google, ANY car forum with the word "Spark plug", you will find that Bosch Spark Plug are the worst. And now you are swapping some Iridium to Plantium which is more.... hm...

Anyways, I hope you like what you did to your CAR~!

Red_TSX, word to the wise, in the future, do your research before you post something like this. People here expect claims of power gains to be backed by dyno charts. No dynos, you're just gonna get nailed. Also, as several people have pointed out, while you may think that you're faster, all the experts in the field disagree with you so unless you have proof to back up your claim, you'll get nothing but doubt here, especially as a .
