Phase bumper

Hey guys soon i will be removing my bumper and making a mold of it to make another one....(I keep bottomin out on pot holes and shit and am scared to actually crack it so bad i cant fix it) so that i can have a spare. I was wondering if the price was right would anyone else be interested in one of the copies as well? It will all depend on how many are interested as to the price. I am not actually doing the work a friend is so i dont know what he will charge to be exact...im trading parts for the work. So just let me know if your interested and ill talk to him.

that would be a big deciding factor for me. if its anything like the original price then i couldnt. i need a second bumper though. so if its fairly low then I would go for it.

What material will the bumper be? If the price is reasonable considering the material, yes, I would be interested as well.

Me too, cost would be a big issue for me as well. Also, would you be using any polyurathane for the materials?

hmmm.. I just realized a slight problem with buying the bumper. Would there not be issues when trying to find a shipping company since it will probably be oversized (as in the case with the Modulo Bumper from ebay) ??

Most bumpers/kits are fibreglass or some kind of composite similiar. Very few companies use polyurethane (plastic like the OEM) because of the high costs for the mold.

I also doubt this kind of "home-made" duplicate is going to produce one that fits right anywhere near the real thing

When I was looking years ago (for another car), it seemed like most of the aftermarket body kits I found were fiberglass. So if you prefer urethane (I do, as I know that sooner or later I'm going to scrape a parking curb or something), you will really narrow down your choices. :-) This time, I'm making it easy (easier?) and installing the OEM kit. Nice to have something with brackets and such too; better fitment than even the urethane 3rd party part, IMHO. But that means that you have a common mod, not too unique. I'll live with it.

I'm down for this as long as it's cost-effective. Don't mind the fiberglass either.

UPDATE...ok the bumper is off and we are gonna probably make the mold next weekend because we are fixing the cracks in it that it has. Basing cost and hours and amount of sales if we are only going to sell 5 price will be from 600-700 but if more people buy we can lower it. Along with this we can personalize each bumper, can have your name on it your team or what ever else where ever you want on the bumper if you want the mouth a lil smaller or the side holes more rounded that can happen too..we can even fill the front mouth with your name if you so want it. But if only 5 buy that is where the price will be so i need to know exactly how many people will buy to lower the price. It will take us a full day to make the mold and one more day per bumper so let me know who wants what and we are located in San Diego so if you are interested hit me up with a pm..and once i get more than 5 buyers then the price will drop.

Stokeless - I'll be moving back home to San Diego next month. I might be interested, but I want to see it in person before I can commit.

I have to agree with this. Although my interest is very high for a Phase replica bumper, i'd like to see the real thing, or pics at least, of the fitment, quality, etc. before shellin' out $600++.

I want to get the price lower before I can consider it.

like i said it will all depend on how many are interested. I am not making the kit a friend of mine that does fiber glass work with commercial fiberglass not the store bought stuff is gonna be making them. We are making a copy of it no matter what for my car just in case i get in a wreck or hit another bump and destroy the bumper to a non fixable condition. But he is a close friend so he is helpin me out.

Cobalt..in reguards to installing it for you bring some beer im sure we can work something out. =)

But once we have a bumper make and all finished up i will post pix give me a few weeks because i still have to get mine completely fixed before we can make a mold and im a lil strapped for cash so i will continue to give updates when i have them.

Nice! Expect a 12-pack if I do end up getting this front bumper. The only problem is that I test drove both an STi and an Evo MR this weekend. And the power is amazing... So now I'm starting to save money for either one of those cars.

Haha. Well, I'm planning on selling regardless in 1 year from now. After the 2 test drives I prefer the EVO over the STI for better handling. But then again, I hear that the Evo X will be coming out in 2 years time, so there's a bevy of great new features and styling...

Also, someone (Kaikai) already has mentioned interest in the wheels, but I'll sell to the highest bidder hehe.

And sorry for this:
