Oil Catch Can v2.5

Just finished with another catch can bracket design. It uses the v1 small can and v2 mounting style and hose routing. It takes advantage of the empty area after the stock intake tube is removed. The top of the catch can stays with the bracket and the bottom part simply screws off for draining. The hose routing is better than the original v1 method to clear the PS pulley and belt.

The top of the catch can is drilled and tapped for screw mounting

Johnny, Can you post pics of your hose routing?

I'm running your 'v1' can (and thankful i am everytime i empty it) and my hose routing sucks. I mounted it over by (on top of) the washer fluid reservoir, and my return hose goes right next to the accessory belt on its way back to the engine. I really need a better spot / hose routing, so this may be it.

Thanks.

The hose routing is same as the v2. My v2 bracket has been slightly redesigned as well.

2 questions.

1. I don't know if I'm reading what you posted correctly. the can is already drilled/tapped for screws or did you drill/tap it?

2. did you make that mounting plate or did you buy it somewhere?

thanks

1. I have to enlarge the existing holes and tap them.

2. I have to make the mounting plate.

you said that you thought it was for you.....I had to ask, in the unlikely event Johnny wanted to test a new version for himself before making you one.

details
Ok now I'm going to sound like a complete noob but.....Can some one give me more details as to the install of this. I love the idea and understand what it does
but I don't have a ton of experience under the hood unless i made a mistake and
missed a 350 4 bolt main under mine?????

What I'm looking for is the exact hook ups for the input and out lines for the catch can. and the parts used to adapt the can to the lines. Do you have to remove any
existing lines or are you tapping them? The more details the better. I love modding my car myself but I'm still learning in the process.

Thanks

Look at the earlier post and search is your friend.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19219 This is the v2 and you should able to find the original v1 thread attach to it.

I have both versions of the thread and thats what convinced me to do it. I get the
basic principal but just wanted to see exactly where the hook ups are. Mabey
someone can import some arrows in to the pic to point out exactly where they
are?

Stock PCV setup = PCV valve -> top of intake manifold via one hose.

Catch can setup = PCV valve -> inlet of catch can. Outlet of catch can -> top of intake manifold.

The direction flow is labeled on the catch can.

Thanks! I guess being lazy doesn't help. After I went out and took the valve cover
off it all made sense. I'm going to home depot today to the parts. Did you also
get the adapters there? They are 1/4 nipple (threaded side) and 3/8 hose side right?

I got the fittings from an auto parts store but Home Depot probably have them as well. The hose is 3/8 but make sure it's not cheap gas hose. Otherwise, the hose will collapse under vacuum. I use transmission cooler lines but they are more expensive.
