New to Tuning: Need Help
Hey guys,
I'm some what new to the tuning scene and have a few easy questions that I hope you guys would like to answer. Currently, I have 2006 TSX with a cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust system. I have noticed that with the simple mods I have been able to get significantly higher performance yields. (No dyno test, just feel it.) I have a friend who said that the next step I should take would be to get a hand held (guessing thats a flash to ECU), before I continue with anymore hardware mods. If this is the case, I have been doing some research into Hondata, but it seems that they only flash the ECU with their setting instead of giving you the ability to truly customize. Overall, I'm really confused on where I should go next for performance gains. Thanks

CAI will yield about ~5hp, but our factory exhaust is very good as is stock an aftermarket exhaust may not add hp. Here's an article that's worth reading. http://www.hondata.com/tuning_k24a2_tsx_engine.html
Yes, no hand held like COBB's AccessPort, but Hondata's reflash is good value for money. There's the K-pro, also from Hondata, which is a programmable ECU. I don't know too much about it other then those who have it run a dual ECU setup - Stock ECU & K-pro.

I'd go for the Hondata reflash, the Comptech exhaust header, and the UR crank pulley in that order.
And if you haven't already done so, get lighter rims, better tires, and a rear sway bar. Vented rotors, upgraded brake pads, and stainless steel brake lines would be next.
