New Brake Pads/Hawk Brake Pads
Has anyone used it on their TSX yet? It's a cheap upgrade I wouldn't mind having. Project Mu costs too much and there is no need for me to use something that expensive since my car is daily driven and not tracking it everyday!!!
I did a search on clubRSX and some guys are saying how it squels when the pad is halfway done.
Thanks!!!

I've heard they are pretty good. Actually Stoptech recommended them to me when I got my rotors, but I went with Endless pads. They (endless) bite hard, but throw out a shitload of dust. You can go for a metallic (think that's what it is) type pad, but they will squeal from the get go, because of the type material, but eliminate the amount of dust produced.

Cost Drivers!!!!
the squeling sounds like ass. Cool on a performance car but man people will turn around look like yo ride iz busted. I'd rather deal with the brake dust.

Hi JeffTSX,
The friend who always quote you parts is he name Roger Fung? He used to have a ITR but now he is driving a white G35c right. My friend (Alan Choy) knows him very well but he went back to HK for good last year. I am sure he knows who that is if you mention his name.

i use 2 types of pads...both for heavy braking track weekends (130mph stops)...i like both HAWK and Carbotech pads...Carbotech Bobcats and HAWK HPS street pads are great with not a lot of extra dust, no extra noise and better stopping power than stock pads...these will also not ruin your rotors
if you are doing actual track weekends you need much stronger pads and most likely at least slotted rotors to cool them as the TSX is at least 3300lbs...if this is the case then HAWK HP PLUS would be better as they last longer and produce much less fade (but will tear up rotors and make a lot of dust and squeaking)

Wow. Thanks for the info. I'll look into it when I have more time!! Just wondering, were those pads tested in a/your TSX? Or was it on a differnet car?
Thanks again!!!

need new brake pads
Hi guys, I will be needing new brake pads soon. My TSX has about 54 000km, any suggestion on type of brake pads other than oem? I would like the new pads to perform better than the oem. I live in Kitchener Ontario, work in GTA, so if you know any good stores in those areas, let me know. Links to where I can get the pads would be appreciated. TIA.

I have sold the Hawk HPS to numerous people, and used the myself as well. They are good pads. They feel better than stock, but do not make a lotta noise or dust or anything. I never had a problem with them fading or unexpectedly locking up on me.
I guess that this point I am just backing up what everyone else said But I do have access to them too.
