My DIY intake.

I have purchased AEM filter and used stock intake tube. I used PVC drain pipe in between to connect them. Total cost is under 30 dollars.

Yes, it looks ghetto, but its cheap. haha...

The sound is pretty close to stock during normal driving. However, when you stop on the gas all the way, the sound becomes louder and it screams at Vteh stage.

I think you change filter every 3-4000 miles.

Nothing wrong with this. Perfectly typical aftermarket mod for a short ram which import enthusiasts have done for years and years. The performance should be on par with other short rams.

To the OP: nice job! car is lookin good too

Quick question, what temperature will the PVC piping withstand before softening or decomposing?

yea, I was worried about this too, but mine seems fine especially driving for the last few days around 90s degree temp. Also, I got this idea from other member on this forum, which he already did and drove for 40,000miles with no problem.

AEM filter or k&n filter?

Your set-up should be fine. It serves its purpose. Only bad thing is its looks, but it's acceptable. It'll function as any other SRI.

I wonder if i need to take stock resonator out? Would this give my intake more airflow, hence, more power?? Thank you..

If you remove it, you'll be surprised as to how big it is. I removed mine and also opened up the fog light hole cover and ran ducting from the back of the cover to the bottom of the stock airbox. It's not sealed to the filter housing like a CAI would be, it's just enough to direct air to the filter with out having to worry about sucking water and crap up in there. just a thought.

The resonator doesn't interfere with anything related to a SRI. i guess taking it out could equal more airflow...but i don't really think it'll be a noticeable difference. But it's worth a try, it's free.

and...can you tell me what diameter pvc pip you used? is it 3.5"
