The thermostat will open sooner to allow circulation of coolant. But it will end up being the same exact temp as stock eventually due to the fan switch. 100% useless as far as keeping the coolant cooler. Keep in mind the fan switch won't turn on until the coolant temp is reached to the preset stock temp.

Yes, those two items work together. However, unless you can program the ECU when it comes out of warm up mode (rich idle), you are simply wasting gas driving around with a stock setup. The "stock" ECU is programmed to increase fuel during warm up until the coolant temp is up to a certain level. I used to have those items in my Civic and tuning the ECU in cold weather is a bit*h. I had to cover half the radiator with a piece of cardboard to bring the coolant temp higher. The A/F ratio can vary around a full 1.0 point A/F. Remember, certain parts are meant for race setups and are not suitable for daily driving cars.

uhh that sounds too complicated for me..

what about the hondata gasket.. that's supposed to lower the intake manifold temperature ... Do I need to worry about programin my ECU for that also?

Nope, no need to worry about the gasket.
